Clermont l'Herault is a small town in the Languedoc with a population of 7,000. It is the principal market town for the area - market day is Wednesdays. Between the Eglise St-Paul, fortified in the 14th century against English raiders, and the ruined castle on the hill above there is the 'quartier historique' with lots of small streets and passageways.
