History of St Edmunds (shortform)
I understand that the church was
originally of wooden construction, to which the tower was latter
added.
The structure was rebuilt after a fire destroyed a large part of
the original church in 1304.
St Edmunds was modernised in the 19th Century. The oldest known
part is the font adjacent to the tower.
The peel of bells has been acquired over a period of Approx. 450 years (Fuller History)
