I have owned my Spitfire 1500 14years (since March 1995)
In October 2000 I undertook a complete “of the chassis” restoration on the vehicle. The main work being done to the bodywork i.e. …..replacing the floor, complete sills, and a new bonnet assembly. The mechanics also underwent major refurbishment at this time.
The car is very much part of our family as it was my daily runner, being used every day off the year, and taking Denise and our Dog on frequent holidays to Ireland. Since the arrival of our daughter Katie now 10yrs, the car has been relegated into second place, as the inevatable 'Dad Car' was required. As the family has grown, the Spitfre now does less than 1k miles per year.....Im feeling the need for a bigger club car ......I would love a Herald 1200 convertable......watch this space.
