INTRODUCTION

Started up on Aug 02 with just 7 children and has grown to a membership of over 120 children, it is a voluntary run club which was started to provide children with the opportunity to channel there energies into a more positive direction through the enjoyment of football. The club aims to break down religious and cultural barriers within the communities. We also aim to get teenagers involved by helping with football coaching and putting them through SYFA coaching courses not only do the children and teenagers benefit but the community as a whole.
 

FUTURE PLANS

1  To increase membership numbers to over 200

2 To increase number of coaches

3 All coaches to have appropriate coaching certificates

4 Organize regular day trips involving pre arranged football matches

5 To enter football tournaments home and abroad taking in local attractions

6 Build up good relationships with local residents authorities sport centres, schools etc

7 Put in place a solid fundraising and sponsorship foundation

8 Put in place a football grading system

9 Work towards gaining our own club house

CLUB MISSION STATEMENT

To enable any young person to participate in organized activities primarily football) as a means of directing youthful energy into productive and satisfying activities.

To promotion of fair play

To engage young people in organized sporting activities, which are healthy and fun.

To fund all activities in a manner that removes as much of the financial burden as possible from the club members

To provide access to qualified FA coaches

 To ensure that young peoples safety is a priority at all times. To provide support to all managers, teams and players.

To share ideas and set positive examples of behaviour to all involved.

To plan social and fund raising events for the benefit of all teams.

To address any issues affecting the running of the club including the financial operation of the teams and club.

To actively organize and encourage involvement with other communities allowing traveling to allow members to experience the wider world.

To attempt to instill within the club a feeling of group harmony, a pride in the local community whilst encouraging sporting achievements within a fair but competitive approach.

To use people from the community to generate self help rather than rely on others

To ensure all members of the club are opposed to discrimination of any form.

To promote trust and respect between all involved in the game.

To reject the use of violence of any form within the game.

To adhere to the clubs and participating leagues code of conduct.

 

MEMBERSHIPS

         Membership is open to all children

DISSOLUTION OF CLUB

If upon the winding up or dissolution of the club there remains after the satisfaction of all the club debts and liabilities any property whatsoever the sum shall be given or transferred to some other organization or organizations having objects that is aim and activities similar to the objects of the club.

Club resolution passed at a general meeting before the time of the dissolution as by above affect cannot be given to such provision then to some charitable objects.

CATCHMENTS AREA

The catchments area covers Glasgow's Southside taking in Govanhill, Polloksheilds, Mount Florida ,Shawlands, Gorbals, and all surrounding areas.

SPECIFIC AIMS

To insure the club is financially independent.

To increase recruitment of members in the club.

To create a friendly and enjoyable environment for players, officals,guests and spectators.

To build on the clubs relationship with local community

MEASURES TO ACHIEVE AIMS

To achieve the specific aims stated above, the club would employ the following measures.

1(Financial independence)

Regularly review its financial position and adjust accordingly in particular, monitor the relationship of costs to income derived from subscriptions, match fees and adjust accordingly.

2 (Increased recruitment into club)

Publicize in local media

Personal contacts communication by players to their contempories,and by parents to other parents)

Recruiting from local schools advertising in libraries, sport centres,supermarkets etc.

(Relationship with local community) The benefits to the community to be expected from the clubs philosophy and mission statement participation :physical fitness and development and unselfish and social behaviour-in a significant portion of the local population. These are benefits both to the children themselves and to the society in which they dwell

Finally, community benefits flow from the socially cohesive nature of the club .A Children's club becomes very much a family affair and creates social bonds between the families of the respective players. The benefits of this spreading as a clubs members increase) needs no elaboration.

(Provide sociable environment) Ensure all guests (opponents and their families, other guests and referees) are treated hospitably before and after - games and with courtesy at all times-ensure sportsmanship by players. Involve players and parents in club social activities.- Responsibility:Chairman,Club coaches, Parents.

MEETINGS

The committee will meet once a Month held at the Daisy St Neighbourhood Centre -7pm first Monday of each month

CLUB FUNDS

1 The club treasurer will account for all club funds.

2 The club bank accounts and statements will be made available to any club member.

3 In the event of a team being dissolved all their funds and equipment would be transferred to the club accounts.

4 In the event of all the teams and the club dissolving all equipment and money is transferred to an agreed similar club or organization.

5 At each committee meeting the treasurer will provide an accurate financial update.

TEAM FUNDS

1 All team funds will be the responsibility of the coaches.

2 All team coaches will provide the club treasurer of their account details if requested.

3 The team coach will at the end of each month  provide an accurate statement of the months income and expenditure to club treasurer.

4 All team accounts will be made available to any team member upon request.

5 All committee meetings a verbal on team finance will be shared.

DISCIPLINE &CONDUCT

1 All team coaches and assistants will register as volunteers and seek police checked clearance.

2 If any team representative is convicted of any criminal offence they will immediately cease to be a member so Southside United Football Club.

3 Conduct issues on and off the field whilst teams are representing Southside United Football  Club will be reported to the committee. The committee will then act on behalf of the club on the information provided to them at the time(in line with agreed structure)

4 All coaches of teams will receive a copy of the club constitution and sign an agreement form before taking charge of a Southside United Football Club team.

MISCONDUCT

1 In the event of any player, official or spectator being proven guilty of misconduct, such persons shall be liable to suspension and/ or penalty, as the club may deem fit.

2 Any player, official or spectator, so suspended shall be deprived of all privileges of the club during the period of suspension.

3 If any coach , player , official or spectator has any grievance with the behaviour of the oppositions coach , players , officials or spectators, then it should be reported to club chairman  IMMEDIATELY. NEVER TAKE  THE LAW INTO YOUR OWN HANDS.

PROTESTS AND APPEALS

All players and officials registered to the club have the right to protest. This protest must be put in writing to the committee and will be discussed at the first available opportunity.

 

COMPLAINTS

All complaints must be registered with the committee as soon as possible after the incident decision or event. This complaint will be an agenda item at the first available committee meeting

 

AGREEMENT FORM

Southside United Football Club

I (---------------------------------------------------name)       Team Age Group---------------------- Have been provided with a copy of the clubs constitution and agree for and behalf of club and the team age group  to conform to this constitution and to accept and abide by and implement the decisions accordance with the rules governing the club

Failure to comply in full with this constitution could/will result in the committee withdrawing the coach from taking responsibility for any Southside United Football Club
