HOW DID YOU START OFF JUNIOR HANDLING?
I gave it ago at KCJO (YKC) camp one year and decided I liked it.
DO YOU TAKE PART IN ANY OTHER DOGGY ACTIVITIES (OBEDIENCE,AGILITY,FLYBALL,ETC)?
I compete in Obedience Agility Flyball and breed showing.
HOW MANY DOGS DO YOU LIVE WITH,OWN AND/OR SHOW?
I own and live with ONE working sheepdog Gypsy 9 years. One Shetland sheepdog Tarot 3 years. I train one border collie for agility Java 2 years (mum’s dog) and train and compete with one border collie in showing Freddie 18months.
WHICH ONES DO YOU USE FOR JUNIOR HANDLING AND WHY?
I sometimes show tarot in adult handling but most of the time use jodi and page allen’s Australian Sheppard Jacob for handling.
WHAT BREEDS HAVE YOU SHOWN BEFORE IN COMPETITION?
I have shown border collies, leonburgers, American cockers, Australian shappards, Shetland sheepdogs, rotties and the odd other breed that is given to me.
TELL US ABOUT HOW TO HANDLE (SHOWING STYLE) YOUR BREED IN JUNIOR HANDLING CLASSES?
Border collies, Shetland sheepdogs and Australian sheppards are very similar to show. Front and back feet should be square and the head should be quite high. All 3 breeds can be stacked or free stood and they should all have good expression on there face with good holding of the ears.
WHAT DO YOU NORMALLY WEAR IN COMPETITION?
A red or black pinstripe suit with ashirt or nice top underneath. Depends what colour dog I am showing.
WHAT ARE YOUR BEST ACHIEVEMENTS?
I won bath champ jha when I was 12 my first ever show with no training.
Won Richmond pastoral good when I was 14.
Came 3rd at the jha finals.
Competed at Crufts since 1999 every year and been placed every year in the ykc.
Won the last ever triathlon at crufts.
Almost made the GB team for the FCI agility world championships (came reserve.)
Working top level in agility.
Won the grooming competition at crufts 2007.
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR MOST MEMORABLE OCCASION SO FAR?
Winning my first ever jha at bath champ. And winning Richmond and coming 3rd in the jha finals.

Be the best you can be and enjoy every minute.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE THING ABOUT JUNIOR HANDLING?
There is such a wide range of juniors out there that are talented I love watching them in the ring.
WHAT DISAPPOINTS YOU IN THE WORLD OF JUNIOR HANDLING?
Juniors that go in the ring without any training.
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WANT TO BRING UP?
Would like to say thank you to everyone who helped me out when I was a junior and to say good luck to all the juniors out there trying to make the grade there is a lot of talent out there.
