Pieces of timber can be taken to Redbridge Recycling Unit.  

Any natural, untreated, timber should go into the wood recycling skip.  For interesting info about value of recycling wood, click here

Chipboard and anything that has been painted, stained or otherwise treated should go into the landfill skip.

Oxford Wood Recycling is a good source of cheap timber.  They are based at 46A Milton Park, near Didcot, and are open Saturday 9 am -1 pm and usually Fridays as well.  Tel. (01235) 861228
