| What to do to celebrate the turning of the Millennium? Seven Fields in winter is not the place for an event, so we decided to do a survey of the all the species. |

| Surveys had been held before but they were not comprehensive, i.e. we could recognise most of the species listed, and knew there were many more in the Reserve we could not. Also the previous surveys concentrated on the plant life and had very little about other species. |

| It was no good us doing the survey on our own, as we are not experts. |
| All the county recorders were asked to take part, some could not, so the lists are still not complete. |

| We would like to acknowledge the help of those recorders who did take the time and trouble to come to Seven Fields and they are recognised on the individual pages of the survey , but we must give an especial Thank You the Wiltshire Botanical Society for their supreme effort in ensuring that the plant survey is as close to complete a possible - although several other plants have been found since. |
