"'Yr Kicks' was inspired by a series of family events, that caused an increased awareness of emotions and how they play a part in shaping the reality in which i live. It's an ode to youth and an attempt to understand the difficulties of a modern day teenage mind..." Jay Stansfield
Yeah- it's also ridiculously catchy, updeat, melodic and would fit in well with some of the finest 60's pop music in the 21st Century! Get it downloaded or buy the sexy green 7" from our online shop before this limited edition goes out of print!!

Tweepop! Home of lollipop-sucking scenesters, handclaps and people in thrall to 1967, right? Well, maybe. But there’s more to it than that. SAY are filled with the joys of the spring and summer of love, but they’re not as retro as many others of the same genre, happily mixing up acoustic guitar, woodwind, harmonies and glockenspiels to create a psychedelic sound situated somewhere between Donovan and a bosky Beck. The title track of this three-song single and its successor Rich both follow this formula but, perhaps realising that more would be indigestible, snap into orchestral mode for closing track Fields, a brooding accordion-led tale which sounds like a tuneful fairytale. More of this please!

To some, the Pendle District in Lancashire may be the least likely place for a trio to come from that pays tribute to the music of the Beach Boys and Britain's XTC and 10CC. Yet Say are just that... their shared love of 1970's pop music is ever so evident on their debut for Hamburg's premier label, Aufgeladen und Bereit. The extra track on the single, 'Fields', is the one to go for. Whereas the first two tracks, the ones on the green coloured vinyl single release, offer dynamite Radio 2 or Radio 6 inclusions, Say's 'Fields' catches this little trio at their best with doses of harmony vocals, harpsichord-like keyboards and a mesmerising melody line to get you drifting along...
