Eating Out

There are some excellent restaurants in the area, some of them in stunning locations.  For around 20 Euros (plus wine ) you can eat very well although it is possible to find a pleasant meal for less than that.

A good starting point in the high season is the Pachacafe where you can find some wholesome food at reasonable prices

If you want to go a little further afield, but not too far there are several restaurants in La Mole, just 5 minutes by car from the holiday village.  The Auberge de La Mole has a glamorous reputation (celebrities are said to eat there) but it is quite expensive at 48 Euros plus wine for dinner.

Our favourite is the Relais d'Alsace.  Whilst it looks rather like a large conservatory the food is excellent, for 21 Euros you can have a tasty and filling three course meal from a menu which includes local specialities such as 'Tarte a l'Ognion' and 'Beouf en Daube'. The service is excellent too,Corrine and Michel both speak good English and will look after you well. There is also a very good children's menu.

Another 5 minutes down the N98 towards Cogolin will bring you to La Ferme du Magnan, a restaurant set in an old Provencal farmhouse above the road on the side of the hill.  Good food in a lovely setting.

Further still in the beautiful village of Grimaud you will find another of our favourites, the Cafe de France.  Again the menu is around 21 Euros, the food is first class and the setting at the side of the village square is very romantic.  After dinner take a leisurely stroll around the picturesque old streets and soak up the atmosphere. You need to book or you may be disappointed.

At Ramatuelle you will find a restaurant called L'Estable at the side of steeply sloping street on the edge of the oldest part of the village just below the post office.  This is a delightful place for  a leisurely lunch especially after visiting the small but pretty market on Thursdays.

This is but a small selection, we could also mention La Vieux Sauvaire, set high on the ridge between the Pachacaid and the sea with stunning views of the islands and the coast.  Then there is Les Graniers which is actually on the beach just outside St Tropez - you can have a table a couple of feet from the sea.

The list goes on so there are plenty more for you to discover for yourselves!
