Marc Bonnel Framing services was created 26 years ago when I moved to Brighton as a hobby to present a personal collection of artwork. It all started with a mitre box on the kitchen table.

It is now a fully equipped workshop with up-to-date machinery to produce and present all types of artwork.

My aim is to present and display artwork with a certain flair, at a reasonable cost to the artist or the final art collector.

I use numerous timber mouldings, including raw timber such as ash, oak, ramin, obeche, tulip and beech. These timbers are either used in their raw state or are hand-finished with various coloured stains or wax, even silver or gold gilding. Using plain wood as a base provides an opportunity to match colours or produce enhanced visual effects.

I also carry hundreds of factory-finished mouldings from reputable suppliers such like as Rose & Hollis or Nielsen. For the more technically minded, I use acid-free mount boards to museum-quality standards (1500 to 2500 microns).

Keeping up with trends in fashionable art presentation, I now create box frames, in which the artwork appears to float inside the frame. Still using deep-rebated plain timber (obeche, oak or beech), I am able to fabricate box frames to cope with any art presentation. Moulding manufacturers are now creating more ornate deep rebated moulding, so the future is bright!

Update: the deep boxes are now available in any depth you require up to 20 cm deep or even more.

So if you need information, quotes (I only quote when in possession of real specifications), or indeed advice, please contact me.
