White ink drawing

Angie Meaden-Bonnel is the resident artist @ 48DR. Her studio is in the house, and from here she produces her highly original, unusual and beautiful pieces of work. Her medium is gold ink which she applies to conservation grade black board by dripping, dribbling and spreading (often with her fingers), before meticulously and meditatively building up areas with tiny dots of gold using a dip pen.

Some of her imagery is figurative (trees, plant life), but her larger pieces are more often abstract but with elements that are reminiscent of aerial and space photography and the natural world.

She initially trained in fine art textiles at Goldsmiths College, London, graduating in the mid-1980s and has shown her work in galleries in the UK and abroad.

Prices for the work range from £65 to £650 depending on size and subject.

White ink drawings

Since November 2005 Angie has been using white ink as her medium - sometimes with the gold, but frequently on its own.

Once again she has come up with highly original landscapes in a panoramic format evoking memories of remembered hills and downs.
