Welcome to Schools Orienteering,
This text was originally derived from the Schools Orienteering Pack by Ashby Mapping.
The content is therefore biased towards the East Midlands. However we are happy to promote
schools orienteering anywhere. (A recent map was in Belgium.)

There has been a great increase in orienteering activity in all youth groups and
particularly in schools in the last eighteen months, especially as it has become apparent
how well orienteering covers many aspects of the National Curriculum, (see
the book list).
The use of local areas as bases for the initial lessons on orienteering techniques has
also been a feature, and many school grounds have now been mapped to orienteering
standards.
