703 Control number The number of the control is placed close to the control point circle in such a way that it does not obscure important detail. The numbers are oriented to north.

Not previously explicitly defined although the following was included in the definition for 602 Contol point: - The controls are numbered in order, with the figures orientated to the north.

OCAD Methods

The default OCAD symbol for the control point number is 703.0, a text object.

This is a rotatable symbol, it can be rotated with the direction tool and will rotate with the map if the “include symbols” box is checked when the map is turned.
