Circle diameter 6.0mm

ISOM 1990 Definition

The control points are shown with circles. The size of the circles should be chosen to minimise interference with map detail around the controls. The controls are numbered in order, with the figures orientated to the north. The start, controls and finish are joined with lines in numerical order. Sections of the lines or circles should be omitted to leave important detail showing.
ISOM number changed from 602 to 702.

OCAD Methods

The control point circle is defined as point symbol 702.0, can be drawn with any drawing tool. The circle measures 5.2mm diameter approximately.

The split circle is not derived from the OCAD symbol 702.0; it should be drawn using symbol 704, connection line and the circle drawing command. If you first draw the 602 control circle, it is easy to get the correct size circle on top, then delete the original and edit the circle using the cut command.

The default OCAD symbol for the control point number is 703.0, a text object.

This is a rotatable symbol, it can be rotated with the direction tool and will rotate with the map if the “include symbols” box is checked when the map is turned.

See the text topic for general information.
