Specifications

603 Spot height

Spot heights are used for the rough assessment of height differences. The height is given to the nearest metre. The figures are orientated to the north. Water levels are given without the dot.

Colour: black.

Text height 1.5mm (this equates to 6 point)

Dot diameter 0.3mm

This symbol is oriented to north.

ISOM 1990 Definition

As ISOM 2000 but number changed from ISOM1990-118 to ISOM2000-603

OCAD Methods

The dot is defined as point symbol 603.0 and can be drawn with any drawing tool, and the text as 603.1. See the topic on text for general information.

This is a rotatable symbol, it can be rotated with the direction tool and will rotate with the map if the “include symbols” box is checked when the map is turned.

Drawing Considerations

Should be used sparingly.

Water levels may be variable and should be used with care.
