Purple is used by all overprint symbols. No other symbols use this colour.
There are three versions of purple in the default OCAD colour table:
- Purple colour number 11 used by all overprint symbols
- Purple 50% colour number 17 used by no default symbols
- Purple 20% colour number 18 used by no default symbols
It is not normally necessary to use this colour in process printing. But for those that
really want to know, the closest CMYK conversion for Pantone purple is:
Cyan 43, Magenta 91, Yellow 0, BlacK 0
When you are drawing your map, overprint symbols can be added to indicate an area where
there is a drawing error. By using this method, you do not break your work flow, and can come
back to re-edit later.
