Undefined symbols are displayed on the screen as grey.
Selecting the symbol will display the details of the symbol in the help area in the lower left of the screen.
If the symbol number is negative it means that the symbol has been imported, probably as a DXF file, and OCAD has not given it a symbol. There are likely to be many similar lines.
If the symbol has a positive number, then the likely cause is that the symbols definition has been redefined.
1. Select the symbol on the map screen, check that you have the required symbol by looking for "undefined" in the help area
2. Select the required symbol in the symbols box.
3. Click on the change symbol icon in the tool bar.
Repeat for any other grey symbols.
Should you have many similar symbols to be converted at once, then use the Menu Item: Extras \ Change Symbols.. method.
1. Select any grey symbol to be converted, check that you have the required symbol by looking for “undefined” in the help area
2. Select the required symbol in the symbols box.
3. Select the menu item Extras \ Change symbols...
4 A selection window with the details of the symbol numbers already completed can be checked on screen and accepted or amended
5. All symbols of the selected number will be converted.
Undefined symbols do not print, either on the unseparated or through the EPS files, they appear only on the screen.
