507 Small path
A small path or (temporary) forest extraction track which can be followed at competition speed.
Line width 0.18mm, line length 1.0mm, gap 0.25mm
As ISOM 2000 but line width was 0.175mm
Defined as line symbol 507.0. Can be drawn with any tool but bézier or straight line modes are preferable.
If the bézier tool is used, care must be taken as gap spacing is dependent on location of nodes and handles. See bézier topic for more information.
The default definition has a gap between dashes of 0.3mm, compared with the ISOM specified 0.25mm. Variation is allowed in the specification, see the Variations in Symbols topic for details.
Particularly important for the competitor is the classification of smaller paths. Account must be taken not only of the width, but also of how obvious the path is to the runner.
See minimum dimensions but specifically - shortest dashed line: at least two dashes.
A clearly visible narrow route made by people or animals.
See visible path junction
