416 Distinct vegetation boundary
A distinct forest edge or very distinct vegetation boundary within the forest.
Colour: black.
Dot diameter 0.22mm, gap 0.5mm
As ISOM 2000 but dot diameter was 0.175mm
Defined as line symbol 416.0. All drawing tools may be used but care is needed with the bézier tool. The Outline/Fill tool is often used with this symbol, check that you edit out the part of the symbol that may be duplicated, typically along a track or second boundary.
See minimum dimensions but specifically - shortest dotted line: at least two dots.
Is the boundary really distinct? Would you allow it as a control site? If not, then it is indistinct and needs no dots.
Vegetation boundary: a distinct boundary between different types of trees or vegetation, obvious at competition speed.
Forest corner: the corner or tip of a wood projecting into open ground.
Hedge: a line of tree or bushes marking a boundary.
