ISOM 1990 Definition

Contour values are often included to aid assessment of large height differences. They are inserted in the index contours in positions where other detail is not obscured. The figures should be orientated so that the top of the figure is on the higher side of the contour.

OCAD Methods

The default OCAD symbol is 105.0, a text object.

This is a rotatable symbol, it can be rotated with the direction tool and will rotate with the map if the “include symbols” box is checked when the map is turned.

See the text topic for general information.

Drawing Considerations

Note these values should be on major contours (every fifth). This does not necessarily mean that the value will be a multiple of 25.

However the specification allows values only in index contours.

1.5mm on a 1:15000 scale map equates to a 6 point size.
