While visiting Data's home world, where Data was discovered as the lone survivor of a decimated colony some 30 years ago, the crew discovers Data's android brother Lore who formulates an evil master plan involving a crystalline entity that could destroy the Enterprise.

While the away team struggle to save male fugitives from a Federation ship that crash landed on a planet run by women, the Enterprise is ravaged by a highly infectious virus.

After arriving at a Starbase for routine maintenance, the Enterprise is hijacked by a computer-dependant alien species known as the Binars. Picard and Riker find they are alone on the ship, but the ship is in the hands of the Binars. They discover that the aliens need the ship's computer to regenerate the computers on their home planet that are expected to be damaged by a asteroid passing through the system.

The Enterprise escorts an elderly Federation Admiral to a planet to negotiate the release of hostages, but the planet's governor wants to kill him in revenge for a previous hostage crisis.

Wesley and several children from the Enterprise are kidnapped by the ancient civilisation of Aldea long thought to be mythical, which has become sterile and hopes to use the children to rebuild their race.

When a terraforming project hits problems the Enterprise crew discover a powerful microscopic life form which has declared war on humans. The life form takes over the Enterprise's lab and computers, and threatens to destroy the ship.

While Wesley endures the grueling Starfleet Academy entrance exam, Captain Picard faces an investigation into his competency as a commander by Admiral Quinn and his obnoxious sidekick Remmick of Starfleet's deeply unpopular Internal Affairs division.

Lt. Worf is torn between his loyalty to the Enterprise and his fierce Klingon heritage when two Klingon fugitives take over the ship.

Picard and Dr Crusher are trapped on a deserted planet. Beaming down to rescue them, Riker Lt Yar, and the rest of the away team fight for their lives against the computerised weapons system that killed all the inhabitants of the planet!

Picard and Riker travel to Earth to investigate a conspiracy in the highest ranks of Starfleet command. They meet Admiral Quinn and Lt Cmdr Remmick (see Coming of Age) and soon suspect that an alien influence is at work.

While travelling to the Neutral Zone to investigate strange occurrences, the crew discovers a ship containing three frozen Americans from the 20th century. Then a Romulan cruiser de-cloaks in front of the Enterprise - the first time the Romulans have been seen for about 60 years! In this episode we first see a planet bearing the marks of a Borg attack although they do not appear.
