POEM ON THE ENGAGEMENT OF TWO YOUNG CHRISTIANS You stand now on the threshold, of a life together paired
Two gentle hearts and minds are met, to start a voyage new
Such good strong bonds together will, not easy tear apart
So let your love grow ceaselessly, through many joyous years
For these will come, as come to all, when sails are torn from mast
For pass they will, and then the sun will break the clouds aside
But there is one who, in each life, must have the greatest claim
The more you see His glory, the more your love will shine,
Giving to each the other, more strength than three apart
He will lead and guide your feet, when paths are dim and dark
So as your ship its anchor lifts, and sails o’er waters deep
He’ll take you through both storm and calm, to reach your destiny
So as you cast off into life, with blessings from above
With love from
Malcolm and Jean

NEXT ESSAY - Critique of Forster and Marston's "God's Strategy in Human History"
two lives entwined with hearts that will, be ever deeper shared
a life that’s joyous, honest, bold, rich, faithful, trusting, true
and storms cannot oercome the love, within the human heart.
it will a bulwark be against, all sorrow, pain and tears.
but hold together patiently, until the storms have passed.
and once again you will know joy, can in your heart reside.
He is your God, the Lord Himself, must have the highest name.
For Him and for each other, three hearts that will entwine
revealing depths of joy and peace within each loving heart.
His light will go before you, as you follow in His mark.
your captain sets the compass line, and to it you must keep.
then safely anchor you in heaven, for all eternity
you go with all our heartfelt joy, and deepest, fondest love.
