WELCOME to the WEB page of the 'Forest Town Crier', Community Newspaper

which was published between June 1999 to September 2006

It was a Sub Group of Kingsway Community Project, Registered Charity No. 1071812.

 

The 'Forest Town Crier' was funded by advertising, and published quarterly for the people of Forest Town.

It told you of:-

It was for people of all ages and ability, children, youth, adults and our senior citizens.


The 'Forest Town Crier' was posted to many places, including:

Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa.
Edinburgh, London, Dublin,
Isle of Wight,
Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Hampshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Oxfordshire.

People who once lived in Forest Town enjoyed this link with the village; some also contributed with their own memories.


6200 copies of the 'Forest Town Crier' were printed and distributed free within Forest Town.

Thanks to 'Echo' talking newspaper, the 'Forest Town Crier' was available on tape for people who were registered as visually impaired.

After seven years and thirty issues this popular community newspaper ceased production and copies are no longer available, but can be viewed in Forest Town library.
