| Janice Evans has been interested
in painting all her life although more recently since the family has grown up she has
found more time to relax and paint. Even though she has had no professional training; attending art groups and experimenting on her own has helped her to develop an interest in many styles, media and formats. She experimented with acrylics and oils, even wax (encaustic art) but now finds more pleasure in watercolours. Nature and scenic views hold more appeal for her to express herself in her paintings. Included on the right is a brief selection of the many paintings she has produced over the years illustrating her talent and range of ability. Her studio is a small desk in an upstairs room from which a view of rolling fields and trees inspires her love of nature. Most of her pictures have been motivated by photographs, images and other works of art for which credit is given, but she has her own style and personal approach to transfering what she sees onto canvas. Despite her preference for nature and the more normal side of an artist life, it has not prevented her from experimenting with a more eclectic approach through vehicles, atmospheric studies and the painting of actual objects as in canal boat art. By far the hardest style of painting she says is actual people or creatures. But that has never hindered her willingness to try new ideas or to experiment with concepts she knows will be difficult. All her paintings are signed both with initials
and quite often with the tiny image of a bird in flight. Once finished each painting holds
a special memory or feeling making it very difficult to part with the final product. For
this reason she has never exhibited or sold any of her pictures although several have been
gifted to friends, some even finding their way to friends as far away as Japan.

| NEWS April 2006 Quite by chance, an artist from the far side of the globe was searching the internet and came across this web page. Her name too was Janice Evans (doppelganger perhaps?) an artist from California, USA. Here are a few of her paintings.
