is receipt from R. Warner cycle agent and repairer and motor engineer of 1 & 3 West End
from the 1940s. Their advertisement in the 1901 Bennett's Business
Directory said;
"Repairs neatly and cheaply executed by competent workmen on the shortest notice. Cycles built to order. Maker of the noted Witney Cycles. For speed and durability try the Witney. One of the many Witney pubs which no longer exists is the Jolly Tucker, the building now houses a fish and chip shop, left. Malcolm Henderson. Below are two stubs from Mr Harry Fowler's cheque book. The one on the left is dated April 5th 1907 made out for £25 as a deposit for the Jolly Tucker. The one on the right, dated May of the same year to Ravenors the solicitors for £225 one shilling and sixpence, the remainder of the purchase price.
