| This page details my Lenco Rebuild.
Its the first one that I've done and I'm pretty pleased with the
end result, although the tonearm is to be changed very soon.
It took be around 5 days to complete the job. I
made several attempts to paint the top-plate myself, but all
failed, so I took it to a local paintshop and had it done
professionally for £15

Replacement for Decca
LINN LV X
|
 |
If I tot up the cost of the individual components
and ignore the tools that I had to buy, it comes out like
this...
-
Original Deck - £88
-
Wood - £55
-
Paintjob - £15
-
Linn LVX - £42
-
Goldring 1042 - £114
-
Handles - £22
-
Feet - £27
-
Badge - £18
-
TOTAL - £381
Of course, this is ignoring the fact that I also bought a Decca
tonearm for £40, a Shure V15-III and new stylus for £65 and a
set of Disc Of Silence for £175. Those items are not used on the
Vitesse and will be used on the next project. A Pro-Ject phono-stage
at £32 is also ignored, as it will benefit any future decks.
