| Before beginning work on your
deck restoration, you should take note of a few simple things
which could make the difference between your project being an
enjoyable and successful experience, or an outright disaster.
The "Project Planner" in the
Mapping Your Design
section will help you to keep on track, so it might be a good
idea to start by downloading that.
You should also decide whether or not you
need to stick to a budget. If you do, then write up the
budget before anything else and STICK TO IT.
Remember too, that when considering the
costs of a Lenco rebuild, their can be many hidden-costs due to
the fact that you may have to purchase tools and other equipment
that you don't currently posess. A perfect example of that would
be the clamps that you'll need to hold the layers of your new
plinth together. These alone may cost £60.
Another important thing to remember, is
to take as many photos as possible throughout the whole project.
This is most important in the disassembly stage of the project.
Its surprising how easy it is to strip components down, only to
find that you cannot recall how the go back together a few days
later. A digital camera is ideal for this task.
Finally, don't rush your project!
There's no need to finish everything in a couple of days. In
fact, its probably true to say that the longer it takes, the
more enjoyment you'll get out of it (now where've I heard that
before?). |
