29th September 2005 - ANNUAL ART
EXHIBITION - Horwich Library
Tonight was the Preview Evening of
our Annual Art Exhibition, held at the fully refurbished library
at Horwich. The event was well attended and everyone seemed to
enjoy themselves enormously (no doubt aided by a few glasses of
the free wine :-)To view

17th June 2005 - A WINNING
COMBINATION OF WIT AND TALENT!
Local artist and teacher, David
Winning, visited the club and shared his unique ideas and
visions with the members. David was thoroughly entertaining
throughout his demonstration and everyone clearly enjoyed the
whole evening. Since joining us that evening, David has written
in to say that he really enjoyed the evening himself and he has
promised to return the two demo-paintings when they are
finished, so that we can see the final results. If anyone is
interested in joining David in one of his workshops, please
contact him on 01204 691966 or
email him. We hope to see David back at the club again,
soon!

1st June 2005 - FIRST
MEMBERS-WEBSITE CREATED
Long-standing member, Colin Myers,
requested a website of his own to display his work. All he had
to do was supply us with a photo or scan of each image, the name
of each painting and the size. We did the rest.....

7th January 2005 - RECAP ON LAST
YEAR
2004 started on a sad note with
the loss of two of our oldest and dearest members, Jack Birchall
and Joan Ainsworth who are sadly missed. Easter saw the year's
first Art Bonanza at Rivington Bowling Club. Weather was
terrible, but the exhibition was quite successful despite the
turnout.
In May, the annual Spring
Exhibition was the biggest yet and very successful in terms of
sales and public appreciation. July/August - a two-month
exhibition at Great House Information Centre, Rivington was very
successful. In August our BBQ metamorphosed into a Potato Pie
Supper - a resounding success. August Bank Holiday weekend Art
Bonanza at Rivington Bowling Club was also a great success.
In October, our AGM was well
attended. Another good year - but Rosie hung up her gloves
after 6 years and Tom McQuiggan took up the challenge as
Secretary and already has designed this web site for the club!
Good luck Tom and thank you Rosie.
We had some really good demo's in
2004 including James Bartholomew and Alistair Adam. Let's make
2005 even better.

23rd November
2004 - NEW SCANNER! We are pleased
to announce that the club has purchased an A3 Scanner so that
members can scan their larger paintings. Previously, we were only
able to scan paintings up to A4 size, so this new scanner will make
quite a difference. Remember too, that you can bring in your
paintings on a Friday and Tom will scan them for you so that they
can appear on your very own "Online Gallery" right here on the HAS
Website! |

| 30th October
2004 - YOUR HELP IS NEEDED! Please
note that on Friday 12th November, Tom will be taking a computer
to the club to show everyone the new website layout. Hopefully,
people will have some useful ideas for website content. This is
also the ideal time to discuss the creation of your very own
Online Gallery on here, to showcase your work.
