Reinforcements have arrived (Lalita makes Stationside) (11/04/02 )
At the nadir hyper point, a lone Alliance aerodyne dropship slows to sublight speed. Not normally FTL capable, this aerodyne made the trip via a hyperspace sled. It burned sublight engines and thrusted towards VDS1.
Lalita gazed out at the emerald blue ball that was rapidly becoming closer and closer. These military dropships were rigid and uncomfortable… it would be nice to stretch her cramped muscles, even if it was only in the confines of a Vendorian station. She had been told that they would be going planet side… she hadn’t been on a terrestrial world in several years.
Lalita hadn’t been home in many long years, her work kept her busy... or so she said. Lalita knew, as did the Admiral, that she hadn’t been home because of Ryana’s death… how could she face her parents? But Ryana was still alive... perhaps it was time to travel back, after we got Rya home.
APPROACH VECTOR HAS BEEN CONFIRMED. PREPARING FOR DOCKING PROCEDURES.
The aerodyne was secured to dock just behind the Phoenix. Mechanical arms disengaged the hyperspace sled and an all-clear message sounded inside the ship. Lalita and the Fenrir security teams disembarked.
Karen Summers was waiting at the airlock and waived Lalita over. She saluted. “Ma’am, the Admiral has been waiting for your arrival as soon as he can brief you, we will be heading out on mission. Hope you caught some sleep on the dropship.”
Lalita scoffed, “You ever been on one of those Sergeant? They’re damn uncomfortable.”
Karen responded with the utmost respect and deference, “Yes ma’am I have, its part of all special mission training and my second assignment was a flight tech for an Alliance drop team.”
Lalita nodded, “Ok, let’s go...”
