Diana Francis is wounded, cast adrift in a tiny escpae shuttle. Her luxury liner, the avaricious heart has been destroyed. One of her beloved pets, Brutus, lies dead in the shipwreck, murdered by the galaxy corps while the other, sweet, gentle Khayone, has been taken prisoner, whisked away to whatever fate the Alliance has in store.

Diana is furious. Nobody treats her like this and lives. Preparations are made, plans are formulated, and the considerable might of STARR is brought to bear.

Somebody, somewhere, is going to pay.
