Description: The Mace is the forerunner to the highly successful Claw mek. Developed from the prototype chassis into a heavy fire platform, designed to survive enemy fire at close quarters long enough to bring the two demolition piledrivers into effect. The mek’s long range weaponry comes from two medium weapon mounts housed on the shoulders and missile racks slung under the shoulders.
The missiles are usually shaped charge explosives to crack open buildings, but other types may be used for combat. The missile racks gain the protection of the main body armour, and are well-shielded.
Virtually abandoned in favour of the more versatile Claw mek, the Mace still sees occasional use in special missions. Although originally a land-based design, modern variants are fitted with flight jets in order to keep up with a standard tactical mek squad.
Lacking the style of the claw meks, the Mace nonetheless is a devastating machine in melee combat, able to crumple heavy armour and completely demolish smaller robots with a single powered blow.
