Description: The Stormraptor is a mek having a very different form to most other meks. The body of the mek almost resembles the front part of a skimmer, having a cockpit-like head in which the pilot controls it and its legs are bent down like the hind legs of a bird. Being developed as a fire support vehicle, the Stormraptor's main weapons are two extended range HE Missile Racks, found on a single pod on the back of its body. Both racks are able to fire 40 shots at once, up to a total of 80 shots, at about one and a half times the normal range of a basic Missile Launcher. The Stormraptor's secondary fire support weapons are its Heavy Plasma Grenade Launchers, one located on each of its weapon pods. The explosion caused by one of their grenades will saturate an area with a blazing wall of plasma energy for a short amount of time. The Stormraptor is also armed with basic weaponry to protect itself if any hostiles get near it. First of all, it has four medium-sized photon blasters, two each on its weapon pods, and on the front of its body, the Stormraptor has a Gauss Ripper Cannon, a weapon that discharges thousands of large, jagged metal shards at a very high velocity when fired. This weapon is not unlike a "Avenger" vulcan armed on the A-10, a skimmer-like vehicle from Earth in the 20th to 21st centuries. The Stormraptor also has a large amount of body armor to protect itself from any damage that it might take from enemy fire. Its combination of weapons and armor gives it a major weakness though. The Stormraptor could probably be one of the slowest meks up to date because of this, making it a favorite target for Gyran hit-and-run operations.
