Best described as "engines with cockpits", calthean needlecraft emphasise the caltheans’ desire for stealth and speed at the expense of firepower or even maneuverability. They are faster than most other ships their size, ludicrously fast for a single-seat ship, and difficult to locate at a distance.
The needlecraft’s engines and fuel cells occupy most of the ship’s mass, with little room for cargo or passengers. The cockpit is typically cramped and claustrophobic. The ship’s engines are designed to minimise flare, reducing it’s visibility from the front.
