 INFORMATION and SERVICES
for individuals, groups and organisations, based on cutting-edge psychological and psychotherapeutic theories and techniques, drawn from a wide and comprehensive range of approaches.

Whether you are seeking therapeutic help for yourself, further development as a practitioner or psychologically-informed input into your organsiation, I can provide - or help you access - a unique combination and integration of approaches.

Are counselling, psychology and psychotherapy fit for the 21st century?

Human subjective experience and human relationships are the heart of our individual, social and work lives, and we all need ways of understanding and doing justice to the depth and complexity of the human psyche. Psychology, counselling and psychotherapy are 'young' disciplines, and are rapidly evolving beyond their origins in the late 19th century. The fragmentation of these fields into a multitude of - often contradictory - approaches is widely recognised and rightly lamented. In their traditional form these disciplines are only partially capable of addressing the psychological needs and realities of people in the 21st century.

My professional background

Originally trained as a psychotherapist in the early 80's, I have practiced, supervised and taught in the counselling and psychotherapy field for more than two decades now. During that time I have worked towards taking the disciplines of psychology and psychotherapy beyond their outdated assumptions from the 19th and 20th century into the 21st century (for details, see some of my writing available on this site). Whether for individuals, groups or organisations, I will endeavour to provide the best that these disciplines have to offer, by drawing from a wide range of approaches and integrating them into something that suits you and is effective in your circumstances.

I am grateful for feedback and suggestions, and I would appreciate it if you could let me know about any errors in content or design which you come across.
