INCLUSIVE CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES

As we all know, finding a club or actitivty which welcomes children with SEN can be difficult.  So we thought it would be useful if we held a list.  If you have had a positive experience with some sort of club - eg sports,  dance, theatre  and would recommend them to others please email me and I can add them to this list.   Please bare in mind, though,  that every child is different and their needs are very different.  It is always worth contacting the club and discussing the suitablility of the club for your child beforehand.

AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS:
Chauncy School "After School Club": They run an after school club for Primary school children. " They do different clubs that last for 4 weeks at a time. I asked if I could attend to support Mason and the school were very accomodating. Mason was not pushed to do anything he didn't want to do. When Mason became very distressed they did everything they could to try to help him - even stayed behind an extra 15 mins to let him bounce on the trampoline which they had moved into its original place so it was not touching the other tampolines (which was the problem!). I can not praise them enough."
DANCE/DRAMA:

ActOne Dance Base http://www.artsbase.org.uk/dancebase.php
"ACT ONE DANCEBASE is truly FANTASTIC. I cannot rate this organisation highly enough. They are fully inclusive. My daughter loves her dancing and gains so much."

Youth Create in Sawbridgeworth. http://www.youthcreate.co.uk/
