Welcome to my web site - which is specifically dedicated to the true collector of the finest quality dolls house miniatures. It is my aim to replicate rocking horses (mainly in 1/12th scale) as authentic reproductions of the original in the appropriate style and period. All are finished to a very high standard with the dapple grey paint finish a speciality, and each is individually hand made to the highest specification. All horses have hand painted eyes rather than glass, which contributes to their unique character. Consequently, a great deal of time is taken to achieve the highest possible standard and this quality is reflected in the price.
Although I do love to make the 'traditional' Victorian and Georgian rockers, and have developed my own way of creating the dapple grey paint finish that compliments this popular style of rocking horses, I am increasingly aware of the rich historical value of other toy horses. I now find myself enjoying the challenge of researching new ideas and reproducing them into miniature. Due to the popularity of the new designs - which I am lucky enough to be sought by various European museums as well as individual collectors, I am constantly finding the need to expand my 'catalogue' to include more unusual period horses.
Since I began making rocking horses, I have worked hard to establish a style which I hope is distinctive and easily recognisable as my own. By specialising in unusual historical designs not made by others, I hope to create some individuality, which helps distinguish my work from that of the other makers - and create fresh appeal to miniature collectors each time I exhibit.
If you do not see anything here that suits your requirements, I am happy to accept commissions, for example, a replica of your own full sized rocking horse in 1/12th scale or a horse made to your own specifications.
