Cryosurgery

In the context of Foot Health treatment, Cryosurgery is commonly used for the destruction of Verrucae and Hand Warts. 

It works by the targeted application of extremely low  temperatures (-90^oC), generated by a metered spray of liquefied nitrous oxide gas. The equipment, which is the most modern available, achieves precise destruction of the verruca or wart, with no damage to surrounding tissue. A variety of probes allows treatment of differing sizes and types of lesion.

This procedure is quick and highly effective, often requiring only one treatment. Some initial stinging is experienced but this rapidly subsides.

Biogun

The Biogun is an electronic microbicide which combats surface infections caused by bacteria, viruses and fungi. It works by producing a concentrated stream of the superoxide radical anion (O2-) from the surrounding atmosphere and delivering it directly to the site of a surface infection.

The Biogun produces these biologically active anions by applying a high direct voltage to a special electrode, resulting in a gentle "wind" of anions which kill any micro-organisms they meet.

This treatment is non-invasive, painless and highly effective against fungal and other infections .

Chemical Cautery

Chemical Cautery is an alternative treatment for verrucae and hand warts, utilising concentrated Silver Nitrate which slowly burns away the affected tissue.

The dead tissue is removed at each session, until the verruca has disappeared.

This treatment may be used in cases which are not suitable for Cryosurgery, or where Cryosurgery is not tolerated.

Electronic Local Analgesia

Diabetic Assessment & Treatment

The efficiency of the circulation and the degree of neuropathy are important to estimation of the level of risk of foot or leg ulceration developing. 

These risk factors are assessed by measuring the three key pulses in the foot, observation of skin colour, temperature and condition, and the use of a calibrated mono-filament to measure sensation.

Should foot or leg ulceration be present, it may be treated with the Biogun (see above).
