I'm a Mac User , and so tend to regard anything running Windows as the work of the devil. The fact does remain that PC's are cheaper, though Macs generally tend to be a little easier to use, and more stable.
The decision can often come down to what your resources are; platform compatibility is less of an issue these days, as Macs have become very good at accomodating PC files and disks.
A good way to approach the problem is to think about how you're going to acquire software; while all the programs listed here run on both Mac and PC, how easily you can get hold of software for one platform or another may determine which you go for; full price, new software can easily cost as much as the hardware.
