Welcome to Shepshed Liberal Democrats home page. Shepshed Town is part of Loughborough Constituency Liberal Democrats, the borough of Charnwood and the county of Leicestershire.

Mike Willis is new Lib Dem Prospective Parliamentary Candidate

Local Liberal Democrats are pleased to announce the selection of their Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for next year’s General Election. Mike Willis has lived in Loughborough since 1992 and knows the town and the surrounding villages well. Currently a Lecturer in Media, Multimedia and Education at New College, Nottingham his previous career has been in Radio, as Presenter, Producer, Consultant and Radio Management, including with OAK FM. Mike also served for six years in the Royal Air Force. Read more".

Cynthia Popley would like to support the voters of Shepshed for their support in the recent County Council elections. Their support enabled her to increase the Lib Dem share of the vote from just over one fifth to nearly one quarter. .


A new Tesco store for Shepshed

Cynthia Popley's long standing attempts to bring a new supermarket to Shepshed have finally borne fruit. A new Tesco Express supermarket will open in Shepshed, subject to planning permission being granted. Cynthia said "I have seen the plans for the development and I feel that it will complement the Co-op and bring much needed competition, extra trade and employment to Shepshed. Read more".


Shepshed Liberal Democrats work with GPCG

Shepshed Liberal Democrats, led by Councillor Roy Kershaw are working closely with the Town Council and Garendon Park & Countryside Protection Group (GPCPG) to prevent this. So far we have been successful, submitting professional and detailed objections to the proposals – which stand a good chance of changing CBC policy. Read more".
