Loughborough Constituency encopasses the towns of Loughborough and Shepshed and also the villages of Barrow Upon Soar and Quorn in the south east to The Wolds in the north east. It is part of the borough of Charnwood and the county of Leicestershire.

Mike Willis is new Lib Dem Prospective Parliamentary Candidate

Local Liberal Democrats are pleased to announce the selection of their Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for next year’s General Election. Mike Willis has lived in Loughborough since 1992 and knows the town and the surrounding villages well. Currently a Lecturer in Media, Multimedia and Education at New College, Nottingham his previous career has been in Radio, as Presenter, Producer, Consultant and Radio Management, including with OAK FM. Mike also served for six years in the Royal Air Force. Read more".

The Lib Dems have been successful in the recent County Council elections by increasing their number of county councillors by three to fourteen and would like to thank the local people for their support. .



Councillor David Walker is working hard to safeguard the old hospital site.

Councillor David Walker has been particularly involved with the proposal to build a 600 bed student block on Baxtergate and has effectively opposed this so far. Davis said "Unlike some Councillors I resisted pressure to resign from the Planning Committee. I made extensive representations to both Inspectors and organised opposition. We now wait for the owners to make acceptable proposals, or sell the site." Read more".

Bill Newton-Dunn has been working hard as your MEP on issues such as the exemption from the working time directive and is very concerned that the EU should engage in truly international issues such as global warming, financialrecession, terrorism and international crime. However, he also has a sense of humour and will post a new joke every day on his web site.
