Halyard Village: West Square(#93069RJA)
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Halyard Village ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Surrounded on most sides by short, squat buildings, none any higher than two
levels, the main square of this small, sea-side village is covered in a fine
layer of dirt, which mostly covers the old cobble stone beneath. Many of the
buildings lining the square are homes, though some are places of business -
and, of course, there are the obligatory pubs. However, pubs are not the only
staple of a small village, especially not this one. Scattered here and there
upon sidewalks and in front of stores, various fishing nets and traps lie
about, most considerably worse for wear. It's obviously a fishing village.
Beyond that, a dirt road runs north and south from the square, with a small
scattering of homes, and behind these, a backdrop of trees. Meanwhile, beyond
the trees lies the shore.

Bright sunlight shines on the little village with only the slightest hint of a breeze. Vladek is sat on a barrel at the mouth of an alleyway. His cowl up the cat surveys his surroundings intently.

Walking alone into the village from the path outside is none other than the currently white furred hare, Jarril.  Not in any rush, the hare is walking quite slowly takling no interest in anything at the moment but the path up ahead.

Vladek evidently does not notice the hare and stands, tossing the pipe down the ally he walks toward the tavern at a slow measured pace.

Lifting his head up, the hare finally notices another form in the street up ahead as he just arrives into the village itself.  Slowing down a bit, he still walks forwards.  "G'day."  He calls out, though his eye is keeping an eye on the wildcat at all times.  Just a hint of a frown is threatening to show.

Vladek slows his pace even more, turning his head in the hares direction he eyes him hard but neither frown nor smile creases his face. Picking up his pace he turns from the direction of the tavern and makes back for his barrel.

Jarril doesn't quicken his pace as he watches the cat make his return trip back to the barrel before giving a look to where the tavern was.  Twitching his nose slightly he frowns more and looks to where Vladek is.  "I hope ya were just thinking on paying for a drink in there and nothing more?"  Now slowly moving to where the wildcat has decided to go.

Vladek narrows his eyes at the hare and after Jarril makes for the tavern the cat follows but slowly as to not arouse to much suspicion in the hare. Fingering the hilt of one dagger he seems to contemplate something as we walks.

Jarril isn't giving Vladek any threat at the moment as he reaches where the tavern is and then turns around to lean against the wall so that he's now facing the wildcat.  "So, mind if I ask what ya business is here?"

Vladek stops fingering the dagger and stops walking "Only here for a place where one can get a drink and not possibly be killed" he says in a disarming innocent tone.

Slowly giving the look at where the wildcat is, Jarril nods his head.  "Ya do know that I have ordahs in keeping this area vermin free, right?  How long have ya been here?"

Vladek shrugs "Long enough and what have I dun to ye" he says in the same tone as before. "I am only a simple beast trying to make his way in the world as a /apothecary/"

Jarril gives a shrug as he looks at the wildcat.  "Hmm, I thought ya were someone else, but I would still state the obvious.  However if ya have permission ta stay in this village than that's okay."

Vladek tells a strait faced lie 'o course I do sir'. Spreading out his arms he makes for th tavern smiling at the hare.

Moves slightly away as he nods to the wildcat.  "After ya then."  Jarril nods as he keeps watching, his right ear twitching slightly from time to time.

Vladek moves in the tavern as he does the smile drops from his face and it is returned to it's normal expression.

Jarril slowly follows into the tavern but he's got that frown on his face again, but carefully closes the door behind him.

You enter the tavern.

Vladek takes a deep breath on entering the tavern and heads for his favorite corner table. Sitting to where he can see the whole room he calls the barmaid to him and orders up an ale.

Jarril just moves over to where the bar is and nods to one of the others working behind there and makes an order.  No money is exchanged for the transaction though as the hare nods and starts to take a sip where he is, one elbow leaning on the bar itself.

Vladek waits for his drink eyes on the back of the hare, when it arrives he tosses several coins on the table and takes a deep swig.

Jarril nodding his head to another, the are finishes his drink and stands back up again before giving the cat another look once more.  Walking over he gives a nod.  "Well, just thought I come over before I head off again.  I make sure ta keep an eye on ya from now on."

Vladek chuckles to himself "that is the problem with a beast like me, you never know where I will turn up next". Standing he drains the rest of his ale and leaves out the tavern door.
