Salamandastron: Niche
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* Salamandastron *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
You are next to a niche in the side of the mountain, which blocks out
everything to the west with its immense rocky bulk. Just barely
visible
is a small fissure in the rock, through which it looks like you could
'enter' the mountain.

[Enter] the Mountain
Lozi-Lao looks up and smiles at Terrance and walks back towards him, "Hello again, sorry to be a bother like this, but Jadzia wanted to stop and ask you know?"
Skiptail goes to lean agaist a wall and misjudges the distance, falling backwards ad landing with a whump
Terrance nods and plants the butt of his axe in the ground, holding onto the spike idly. "No bothah at all sah. Been a pretty borin' shift so far." He then looks over at Skip and blinks a bit as he falls, but thinks better on commenting before looking back, "Anyhow, I gave yer message ta Majah Jarril. I believe he'll be out here in a minute or two ta answer yer questions."
Skiptail stands up quickly
Jadzia glances a puzzled look to Skiptail and shakes her head a little before looking back and to Terrance now, small nod going to him "Thank you very much for the time"
Moving along the corridor which is slowly leading to the outside, Jarril shakes his head with a yawn as he gives his eye a rub before straightening out his uniform. The major only recently been trying to sleep so that he can be ready later for a night patrol when he got a message to come down. Emerging from the tunnel he looks at the situation and speaks. "Long time no see Lozi.. What pleasure do we have this time around?"
Zara remains in Jadzia's arms, the squirrelet's recently opened ears flicking and twitching attentively at the gathering of new voices.
Skiptail is now so utterly embareced he just sits on the ground saying nothing and looking at his own paws.
Lozi-Lao smiles at Jarril and bows his head, you can probably just make out the mast on the squirrel's boat where it is beached down the sure, "We where wondering if Kail had turned back up after the unpleasentness that made us leave in such a hurry." he glances at his sister who is holding the baby squirrel Zara in her arms before he looks back at the Major and smiles. "We where passing you see and wanted to stop."
The major doesn't reply right away as he's giving his brain a workout. Slowly, Jarril shakes his head. "I ain't sure. I haven't personally seen Kail at all."
Terrance looks behind him as he hears footsteps and nods, throwing a salute and then dropping it so the major doesn't have to bother returning it. He then just stands silently in the background, eyes scanning to the surrounding landscape every now and again
Skiptail sighs quietly and continues sitting, embarecced to a point now.
Jadzia glances downwards at Jarril's words, nodding a little "All wanted to know really...we won't keep you away from duty or anything" squirrel already turning to head back to the boat.
Skiptail surveys the conversation not sure really what to do, he decides to sit and stay out of it.
Lozi-Lao watches his sister already getting ready to leave and sighs, "Sorry to bother you major, was a hope is all."
Jarril slowly nods back. "Well, I may not have seen Kail but others may. Why not stay at the village here and ask around. Ya nevah knwo, someone may have seen who you are looking for."
Skiptail stands up and walks around the edge of the group, decideing that these are matters that dont involve him, and there is probally nothing he could do to help, he sees the boat and sighs a bit, then turns and walks in the opposite direction.
Terrance's eyes glance towards Skiptail as he starts to walk off and then looks back to the other squirrels, spinning his axe a little.
Skiptail sits down, away from the others, enjoying being just by himself.
Jadzia glances back to Jarril at that, ears twitching once before she quickly looks to Lozi, seeing his opinion on the idea, even if she'd like to go just on the off chance.
Lozi-Lao watches Skiptail and nods to the Major, "We are heading to Southsward in our boat, the kingdom of the squirrels you know? Our uncle lives there we are going to join him." he reaches out and grabs Skiptail's arm, "No need to rush off friend." he glances at Terrance and the Major and smile,s "Thank you for the information, it may be worth us staying in the town for a few days to see if anyone has heard anything.""
Skiptail starts in suprise when his arm is grabbed.
Giving another nod. "Well, things around here have pretty much gone quiet again." Turning to face Terrance. "These squirrels are okay." The major just gives a certain 'don't ask me' look. Moving his head back again. "However, due ta what happened and all, I would suggest that ya leave any weapons in the sentry room here while ya stay. They be looked after and ya free ta ask anyone for information. Someone should be able ta know something. Sorry I can't be anymore help."
Terrance looks to the Major and nods, giving a quick, "Yes sah."
Skiptail clears his throat, finnally summing up enough courage, "err is there nything i may be able to help with?"
Jadzia looks between Major and Lozi a couple of times, listening to them and then Skiptail speaks up and she looks over to the squirrel, head tilting slightly as if she's surprised to hear him speak now.
Lozi-Lao looks at Skiptail as well, the black squirrel seeming to size him up, "I can always use an extra crew beast on the Morian when we set sail." he glances at Jarril and nods his head, "Certainly Major, i'll be glad to leave my weapons whereever you need to me if i enter the mountain. Thank you for this help."
Skiptail seems to be gaining a bit of confidense, "becuase i er, didn' really enjoy gettin' bullied at redwall, so i kinda er, signedout."
Zara remains inquisitive, or as inquisitive as a squirrelbabe can be. She gives a wide yawn and settles down.
Jarril nods and gives a yawn again, a white furred paw rubbing his eye once more. "Now if ya excuse me, I have ta head back inside." He gives a bow but thinks of something and speaks as he gets up. "It may be quiet but be warned that it's just as dangerous as it usually is these lands, even in peace. I wouldn't go about with guard down so ta speak. I believe I heard there's some room left in the tavern though if ya need it. Tell Keita I sent ya, she be glad of the business no doubt."
Jadzia raises a brow once to Lozi's offer but doesn't sat anything on it, looking back to Jarril instead and quickly nodding to him "Thank you for the help, we'll do that certainly"
Terrance looks towards Skip as he speaks and smiles a little, his expression looking like that of him having a flash back. He then takes a scan of the landscape again before looking back to the others.
Lozi-Lao smiles at the Major and nods his head, "I will keep that in mind Major," he nods to Terrance and smiles, "Thank youfor yur help as well Private." he then turns back to Jadzia and the squirrel he seems to have picked up as well. "Come on then, let us get back to the boat and we'll sail up to Halyard."
Terrance nods and says, "My pleasuah sah. Safe travels." He then turns, nodding to the major, and then walking back to resume his post in the sentry room.
Jarril nods and heads back into the mountain as well, passing Terrance
as he does so.
