The Colonel's doing something she does not usually do - she's sitting in the leaders' lounge. With the commotion over so many creatures leaving in the next 24 hours, this is the only place that the Colonel can get a moment of peace. She holds a book open in paw, leaning back in an armchair with her feet up on an ottoman.

The door opens quickly as Jarril jumps inside and closes it behind him, panting heavily and leaning against it.  Taking a few deep breaths he calms down and moves to one of the empty chairs and flops into it.

... Huh. Zoe's ears perk, twitch, and then up she glances with a quizical frown which she levels on her cousin. Brow-quirk. "... What /evah/ are you doin', cousin? Ya look like yer runnin' from a ghost or somethin'."

Jarril wipes the top of his head with a paw.  "Replace ghosts with recruits.  They've been badgering me more than Bludstripe cubs has done with questions about this exchange thing."  Taking a sigh he reaches over to make himself a stiff drink.  "I ain't sure if they're going ta settle down, the ones that are going mind."

Zoe_Lang relaxes considerably given the explanation, and even manages a soft chuckle as she relaxes back into her chair. The chuckle ends with a sigh, though, and she tilts her head back to regard the ceiling. Ahhh. "So... ready t' be outta here 'n' on the road?"

Jarril shrugs.  "Not sure, change of pace I suppose, give a few others breathing space while I ain't around.  Not sure what ta expect really, although."  He smiles.  "Never know, may come back and retire, call this my last duty for the recruits at least.  I am going ta end up getting old faster than I want ta looking after them all the time."

Zoe_Lang listens thoughtfully, then nods. "... Well, you'll be missed 'round here. You'll be doin' a good turn for the recruits, though." She looks at him, then, with a small grin. "And yer ole cousin'll find an excuse or two t' come visit, besides."

Jarril chuckles.  "Sure ya can manage the trip?  It is a long way for someone with a stick, doncha know?"

Zoe_Lang smirks, says something along the lines of 'haha, very funny', and shrugs. "Well. I figure Miette ought t' see abbey at some point, 'n' besides... Haven't paid m' respects to Kevarr's family, yet. I 'spect they're still 'round that area." Not to mention the grave. "So I figure I'll go on this trip, at least. You just see if I don't keep up with you slowpokes."

Jarril takes a sip of his drink and thinks for a moment.  "Just exactly what are my ordahs for this thing?"  Turning his head to face Zoe.  "Ya haven't told me them yet, cousin."

Zoe_Lang's eyebrows go up. "Yer ordahs? Well... yer to maintain the level of trainin' we 'spect from the recruits. Yer to make sure that they follow the rules o' the abbey at all times. Any promises that they make t' the ordah, they're to uphold 'til they've completed their trainin'. I mean t' say, if at any point one o' those recruits takes an oath t' do no harm while they're livin' in the Ordah, then you'd bettah damn well see they follow that oath." Pause. "... Try t' keep 'em from makin' any agreements that'll directly go 'gainst our ways, though." Heh. Squint. "... Yer also t' see to their protection. Yer the best defense those recruits'll have, remembah."

Jarril nods his head.  "Aye and the only one that has any real fighting experience.  I just hope this is one of those peace times that the abbey will be in.  Don't think I like ta be counting on unseasoned fightah's if anything does come along ta cause trouble.  Sure there's no real patrallahs that can be spared, at least try and get the sixty-seventh back up ta scratch.  Can keep their patrah training going without worrying those peaceful lot in the abbey, wot.2

Zoe_Lang chuckles. "I'd rathah keep things... a little more relaxed fer the Recruits. Let's leave the 67th fer what it's meant for, fer the time bein' - times o' emergency. 'Sides, the abbey's shown itself capable enough in times o' need. There're beasts there who would help, 'n' you'll be there to assist if anything comes up. Aye?"

Jarril nods and finishes his drink.  "Aye, well I best get back ta it.  Now cousin, don't hide away in here ta long now, will ya."  Nodding his head the hare heads out of the room.
