It's been a while since Jarril has been seen that much, only taking several classes, sitting in for the first year recruit exams.  With his knee still bandaged and a crutch under his arm, Jarril makes his way down on his way to another task that needs to be done today, the hare minding his own business as he allows the other hares to move past him, not in any hurry.

One of those hares passing him just so happens to be Zoe. But when she sees the major, she halts, stepping to the side and out of the flow toward him. "Ah, cousin. Hullo." She smiles.

Jarril gives a soft smile back.  "Hello cousin."  He stops and looks about, nodding his head to one of the recruits running past him, a bit relieved that the major is held up as the young hare makes his way to where he should be.  Moving his head back to face Zoe.  "Sorry for snapping at ya before, got a lot on my mind."

Zoe_Lang's eyebrows go up and then down as her brow wrinkles. "... Hm?" It takes her a few more seconds, and then she blinks. "Oh! Um... Righ'. Well. 'Twas so long ago I'd forgotten, so I wouldn't worry about it. Eh?"

Jarril nods.  "Okay, I won't.  So any news of when this lock down is going ta be lifted?"

"Soon s'we can determine that the shores are cleared," is Zoe's reply. She makes a face. Ugh. It really is a pain. "Patrols are going out every day, 'course."

Jarril nods and gives a frown.  "Any of them found whoever got me and Taye?"  Looking back up again he shakes his head.  "I don't like the fact this one has spies all over the place, cousin.  Not t' mention all that he knew what was going on in places."  Changing the subject in case something is asked he clears his throat again.  "So how are some of the recruits doing with the healah training?"

It takes a moment, but she recalls the report. "... Mm. I wouldn't worry about the spies bit. There's nothin' they c'n do t' infiltrate Sala, even assumin' they /are/ tellin' the truth 'n' not just blowin' smoke." She addresses the question, then. "Healah trainin'? Oh, well. 'Tis pretty basic stuff we train 'em in the classes, 'course. They do fine with it. Those that show an aptitude pick up what they need t' know on their infirm shifts."

Jarril nods and messes about with his crutch slightly.  "Well enough about work."  He sighs slightly but it's a happy one.  "So anything happening with ya?  How are things?"

There's a little grin and a little shrug. "Fine. Nothin' interestin' t' report. M'life, cousin, is fairly borin'." She chuckles.

Jarril hmms.  "Well, I thought I would ask."  He does blush a little.  "I hardly stop ta ask that sort lately.  Workaholic I am."  He chuckles and leans on the stone wall.  "So, how's Harper doing in ya class?"

Zoe_Lang looks quietly amused at this question. She smiles. "Ah, the lad, is it? He's doin' jus' fine. I wouldn't say he has an aptitude fer healin', but does just s'well as the rest." Mm-hm. She nods.

Jarril nods.  "Well, that's good.  Er."  He rubs the back of his neck a bit.  "Been no change in his attitude has there?"

Zoe_Lang shakes her head, trying to be reassuring. "... No. Nothin' like that, Jarril. He's been doin' jus' fine." The Colonel shifts her weight, then leans against the wall. Just two old gimps leaning against a wall. Ho-hum.

Jarril blinks slightly.  "Cous...  I can't remember if I told ya who it was or do ya know?"  He looks at passing by hares and bites his lip slightly before turning his head back to Zoe thoughtfully for a moment.  "Ya do know it's Harper right?"

Zoe_Lang's expression remains unchanged; she nods. "'Twasn't hard t' figure out with what you did tell me, lad." She smiles slightly. "He has the look o' you, besides."

Jarril shakes his head and stops.  "He does?  I didn't notice."  Blushing slightly.  "Well, he doesn't take that much from me, at least he's able t' fight, pretty good at it from as far as I found out from the other trainers.  Not sure why he picked being a runner though."  Resting his back against the wall he closes his eye.  "Ah well, we soon have some new young officah's soon ta replace us old timers, hmm?"  Grinning.

Zoe_Lang's grin is faint and she shakes her head. "Don't replace me too quickly, now. I've still got some service t' give in these old bones."

Jarril grins back.  "Now, who said I was thinking on replacing ya?  I think ya outlive us all or that I be really old before ya do retire though I can't see it really.  Doesn't work in our family that."

Zoe_Lang chuckles. "... Aye, well. We'll see. If a time comes that I'm injured and I can't continue m'duties, I'll step aside without a fuss. M'not so proud that I don't know when m'beat." She gives him a fond pat on the shoulder.

Jarril gives a chuckle.  "Ya mean ya still got areas that aren't injured?  My, ya pulling my leg there cousin."  Ducking away slightly before popping back up with a slight wince and goes quiet again.

Zoe_Lang smirks. In other words, 'Haha, very funny.' She eyes him as he winces, but doesn't say anything regarding that. "Ya say that now, but I could still whip ya any day. rooc Sorry. Justa sec.

Jarril nods his head.  "Don't remind me.  I have the bumps ta know ya can."

Terrance walks into the corridor from the kitchen, wincing as he hears the otter loudly correcting one of the less fortunate recruits on KP duty. Smirking a bit, the recruit pauses and looks around a bit

Zoe_Lang looks as if she remembers that encounter. She gives Jarril's shoulder a firm pat. "You did well 'nough, though, all the same." She turns, eyes squinting as she regards corridor. Anywhere she needed to go? She /was/ out here for a reason...

Jarril blinks and nods his head.  Pushing himself off the wall and placing the crutch under his arm again.  "So er, anything that I am holding ya up for?"

Terrance pulls a scone that he managed to swipe from the storage and then goes walking towards the stairs. He passes by the two officers without acknowledging them. A fact that he realizes after he's passed by and winces, hoping the two are too busy to notices as well

Zoe_Lang's ears flick in a bothered sort of way. Interrupting her thought process, he is! "... Hm? Oh. No. Not that I c'n think." Literally. "S'pose I might head off fer some tuck." She shrugs, and for her own part doesn't take notice of Ter.

Jarril snaps his fingers with his free paw.  "Ah yes, it's lunch isn't it."  He does notice Terrence but doesn't say anything as he gives a sly grin.  "Well, since we're even and all.  What about a race, cous."

Zoe_Lang smirks and eyes his leg. "Not quite even. My aches are at least old 'n' settled. Yers are still settlin'." Tsk. She gives him a look. "No racin' fer you."

Terrance just keeps walking along, letting out a breath of relieve as he seems to have escaped repremand. He then starts to head up the stairs, healing class to get to and all.

Jarril ponders that for a moment and then nods his head.  "Aye, I do owe ya that one.  Okay, I go slow."  He starts to move down the corridor and smiles.  "Don't worry, I want ta get this rested well enough so I can get back ta running if this will allow me.  I just have ta settle in trying ta out eat ya then."

Zoe_Lang smirks. "Somehow... I doubt that'll be too very hard." Zoe is not known for being a big eater. A big drinker, on the other hand... She starts after him, keeping pace with the crutch-bound buck.

Jarril doesn't put any pressure on his sore leg at all, in fact it's not even touching the ground as he moves along, the hare not having to move this slow since well, never.  The sound of hares making a racket is up ahead as he finally responds to what Zoe had to say.  "Oh, okay."  He turns and slips into the main room.
