Flaxpaw wanders down the leader's corridor, a try from the kitchens with two mugs of tea balanced on one arm. She looks around uncertainly. has been up here a few times, but is not sure where she should go to find the major.

The doors along the corridor do have a wooden sign beside them with the name of who is living within each of the dorms along this part of the mountain.  There are some muffled voices behind some of the doors and a passing colonel nods to you as he moves down the corridor in the other direction from you.

Flaxpaw waves a distracted salute at the colonel, and notices the signs. She looks until she finds the one for Jarril, then takes a deep breath and knocks. whole thing's likely a bad idea.

A voice comes from inside as Jarril calls out.  "Yes, what is it?"

Flaxpaw had hoped he would open the door and be surprised, but...." It's Flax, sah. brought you some tea"

A pause until he calls out again.  "Well, just don't stand there, come in, come in."  The door opens and it looks like the major has only just got up.  Nodding his head, he beckons you in.  "So what's the reason for bringing tea?"

A pause until he calls out again.  "Well, just don't stand there, come in, come in."  The door opens and it looks like the major has only just got up.  Nodding his head, he beckons you in.  "So what's the reason for bringing tea?" *repose*

Flaxpaw smiles up at you on the way in, and shrugs a bit. "thought you might like, sah. An, well, my way of apologisin." she looks aroound for somewhere to set the tea, looking ready to scamper if the gesture is not well-recieved.

Jarril nods and looks to where there's a table in the room.  "Well, put it down over there and stop being so jumpy.  Should stop listening ta recruit horror stories about us mean upper ranks, wot."  The major moving to the side and beckoning Flaxpaw in.

Flaxpaw takes the tray and sets it down, chuckling. "Yes, sah. An of course, you higher ups aren't such bad sorts, sah. Just I always seem to do the wrong thing." she blushes at that, probably not the most impressive thing to admit.

Jarril smiles and closes the door behind him and nods.  "Well, perhaps not worrying about if ya doing well or not may be a good start, hmm?"  Moving to one of the chairs, he sits down and looks.  "Don't make me tell you to sit, this is a always off duty place for me at least.  So drop the sah thing as well...  Thanks."

Flaxpaw nods, "right, yes...um." she thinks for a moment, and sits. "Jarril?" asked in a small voice, like that may be the wrong answer. She glances quickly at you, then goes to examining the floor.

Jarril laughs.  "Correct, Flaxpaw.  So ya have been paying attention these past season.  Good."  He leans forwards and takes a mug off from the tray.

Flaxpaw blushes again. " 'course I know your name, sah, uh, Jarril. Just feels odd to say. An if we're off-duty, call me Flax. only my parents call me Flaxpaw." She grabs the other mug, and sips quickly.

Jarril nods slowly, placing the mug down onto the table. "Ah, so anyways.  You said that ya had something ta apologise for though for the light of me.."  The hare runs a paw behind his head.  "I haven't the foggiest on what for?"

Flaxpaw darts a glance at you, then resumes her inspection of the floor. "At the tavern. 'course you don't want to talk about the patrol when you're off duty."

Jarril nods.  "Flaxp..  Flax..."  The hare says softly.  "It wasn't ya fault at all.  I am just in one of those stages where I do not want ta discuss duty stuff all the time.  However, please don't see it as something ya did wrong."

Flaxpaw nods. "thank you, s- Jarril. Now, what do you like to talk about, when you're not on duty, that is?" seems to be relaxing a little.

Blinking slightly, Jarril pauses in thought and shrugs.  "Actually I don't have that much time off and when I do I haven't exactly had many ta talk ta and all.  So er, tell me about ya family."

Flaxpaw wrinkles her nose. "Family don't really care for my bein here. Mater an pater were patrollers, but..." she shrugs and sighs. "They  didn't think any of us leverets were suited after my brother Horatio left an-um-didn't come back."

Jarril nods, moving his paw finger around the top of the mug.  "Well, everyone has something ta give, even if it takes a while ta know where the path lies.  They're still alive though, right?"

Flaxpaw nods "Yes. Far as I know, anyway." She tilts her head. "An your family?" sips a little tea.

Jarril pauses with his movement and looks down in the mug removing his paw from it's rim.  "All gone, happened about a season after I arrived here, got a note from up north about some slavers that attacked the small settlement.  Some huge rat was the leader from those that managed ta avoid being caught.  Of course with my mater and pater being patrahers themselves, they wouldn't allow ta be taken."  Pausing for a moment and giving his right ear a scratch he continues.  "Well, it was several seasons back now and I got over it.  Only thing I could possibly hope for is one day they get foolish enough ta come this way but that's doubtful."  He smiles more.  "This mountain is mostly my family now anyways, at least I have my cousin here which has helped."

Flaxpaw nods slowly " 'm sorry. 'bout your family." her ear twitches in interest. "You have a cousin here? who?" she looks thoughtful, can't imagine who he's realted to.

Jarril grins slightly and leans back in his chair.  "Ya know her or should do anyways.  Well, she's a twice removed cousin really but it's actually the colonel that works in the infirmary with a limp."  He drinks the rest of his tea to let that one settle down.

Flaxpaw's eyes go wide. "colonel Zoe? you're her cousin?" she smiles. "She's alright, talked to her once. An she has daughters in the village, right?"

Jarril nods.  "Aye, family's quite big if ya think about it."  Placing the mug down onto the table.  "Wouldn't be surprised if there were more out there in the world that I don't even know about.  Who knows, even I can't keep up on if I have a elder brother or sister or any closer cousins about the place."

Flaxpaw finishes her tea, sipping it slowly as she realises it's almost gone.  "Family's important. whatever family you make." she shrugs. "like you said, mountain's family. for me too, now. Don't think mine'd have me back. And there're the dibbuns here wot need looking after, and..." she looks at you questioningly, hesitating. "there're all sort here in the patrol, serve as family, right?" she flushes a little, and looks back at the floor.

Jarril nods.  "Ya could say that yes."  He pauses and leans over the table and to the side. "Hmm, is there anything ya can see down there?"
