RW Abbey: Great Hall
--------------------------------------------------------------------
The Great Hall of Redwall Abbey. Countless paw falls have echoed from
these stones, and untold numbers of feasts and merry gatherings have been
held here. A table, not nearly so grand or large as its predecessors,
but quite functional for mealtimes, rests near the center of the hall.
Chairs exist here aplenty, though most of them are obviously not from the
same set. Many of the stained glass windows are broken, and have been patched
with canvas and boards to fend against the elements. The floor is clean
and swept. A fire is kept burning in the fireplace at almost all times
of the day and night, and there are several more comfortable chairs and
cushions set up here, of varying sizes. One looks large enough to easily
accommodate a badger.
The Tapestry hangs proud and tall, and while the rest of Redwall may still bear the scars of natural disaster, this most famous of Redwall's relics remains unharmed by beast, time, or the elements. The figure of Martin the Warrior seems to be watching over his own with an unchanging, kindly gaze.
Red, blue, orange, green...vibrant patterns of color are painted on
the floorstones of Great Hall by the high afternoon sun that is streaming
through the stained glass windows.

Andelain shrugs. "I dun tink dey're scawy. Dey're kinda pwetty wit' de big taiws that fwuff like dat. And de lady fox is bewdifuw." Just to prove it, she waves, grinning, at Veronica.
The marten kits goes to bat at Andelain's paw and grab it lightly. "Dwon't do dat they'll come offer an' stwuff..." Kyle looks petrified.
Veronica smiles down at Rodney. She tilts her head to the side and speaks quietly, just to him, "You look in less than perfect spirits. And your knee... what ails it? Is it an old injury?"
Rodney shrugs a little, glancing at the leg. "Every now and then it gets a little worse, and then it gets better again... A nusiance that it should happen just now..."
Veronica smiles down at Rodney. She tilts her head to the side and speaks quietly, just to him, "You look in less than perfect spirits. And your knee... what ails it? Is it an old injury?" (re)
Veronica places a paw on Rodney's shoulder, squeezing slightly, "What aggravated it? You must take care of yourself, my dear Rodney. The infirmary is taxed enough as it is."
Frowning, the marten kit looks towards the foxes and grips his blanket more tightly as he sits near Andelain. Kyle tilts his head.
Andelain shrugs when Veronica doesn't see her. "Oh weww. Dat wasn't bad, was it? Didn't even mattew."
"Hwava yah seen Kwestwal an' Amefist an' udder dwibbuns?" Kyle's ears perk up.
Kevarr keeps writing away. Her expression is a thoughtful frown.
Andelain shakes her head. "Nope. Not today, at weast. I dun know Kwestwal doh. Whosa dat?"
"Shwes wike me..but cwute. But yah can't twell her dat k?" Kyle smiles and giggles as if embarresed.
Andelain giggles too. "I dun tink I'd wecognize her, den. I dun know what yew'd look like cute!" She giggles some more, rolling up into a ball as she shakes with her tiny laughter. Rolling about, she bumps into Kevarr's footpaws, but doesn't even notice as she keeps laughing.
Kevarr grunts as her paws are bumped.
The tail of Kyle sticks up abit. "I'm cwute!"
Jarril slowly pads in, looking around the room for a moment and stops, placing his paws on his hips and bites his lower lip. Not seeing who he is after, the hare begins to turn around to head back out again.
Rodney glances at the laughing dibbun, then returns his attention to his aching knee. "It just had to get worse just now... It is because I was leaving, I swear it..." He makes an angry face at the displeasing joint on his knee, muttering something under his breath.
Andelain snorts, shaking her head and giggling even more. But she does edge away from the Magic Marten so she doesn't get in trouble, and maybe even turned invisible. She looks up to see Jarril coming in and waves to him too.
Jarril gives off a grin and nods his head back to the young cat, his large ears flopping forwards over his face and then flipping right back up again, with a small twitch to the right ear to finish.
"Leaving?" Veronica's attention is now entirely on Rodney, those evesdropping ears swiviling to hear him as best they can, "Where are you leaving to? And for how long?" she says, brow furrowing, "I cannot fault you if obligation draws you, yet still..."
The marten swishes his tail and goes to pounce on Adelain! Kyle giggles.
Andelain grins at Rodney. "Yew've gots funny eaws, mistew..." just as she is about to continue, Kyle lands full on her. With a playful snarl, she wraps all her paws and her tail around him, the two of them rolling, rolling, rolling...
Well guess who's getting dizzy? Kyle. Ayup. He holds onto the kitten as best as he can, nipping lightly at her ears.
Rodney gives the vixen an apologetic smile. "Well... I have been wearing on my welcome here at the Abbey for a long while now... I would think it is getting somewhat thin..." He rolls his eyes at Andelain's comment, then continues. "Also, I cannot abandon my home forever... I am sure it needs tending to."
Kevarr rubs her face again and stops writing for a moment. Her frown has deepened considerably now, and whatever she's writing is obviously not a pleasant thing.
Andelain bats at Kyle, but can't roll forever. With a plantive mew, she tries to throw the biting dibbun off her, though her ear is rather caught somewhere in the direction on his teeth.
The kit gets thrown off and Kyle gets sprawled across the floor, giggling.
Veronica nods, smiling a sad smile, "Home and Family. They are the two things that are most sacred." the vixen shakes her head, "I will not lie to you. It saddens me that you must go. A friend is sacred to, though not -as- sacred. But you must fulfill your obligations." she tilts her head very slightly, "When do you depart?"
Andelain giggles too, not moving from her sprawled position save to rub the ear that Kyle had been nipping at.
Rodney twitches a little, his expression darkening considerably. "Family? No..." He shrugs the blue note off, putting on a brave smile. "I meant to leave right now, but I shan't be able to walk very well on this knee, so... In a few days perhaps."
Kevarr begins scratching again, this time slowly.
Jarril just watches where he stands, placing his paws behind his back and smiles at such young having fun.
Andelain bounces up again, jumping at Kyle's tail this time. Missing completely, she bounds off towards the other side of the room, tail twitching, just asking to be chased.
Veronica nods, erasing the sadness from her own smile to help chase away the 'blue note', "Well, don't forget to give me a farewell before you do." she gives him a mock severe look, "'A foe's wrath is but an ember next to the fury of a friend.'" she says, smile breaking through despite herself. This last statement is spoken like a proverb is spoken.
The marten kit runs/crawls after Andelain but then changes course and heads towards the kitchen. Kyle giggles, dragging his blanket behind him.
Andelain slides around on the floorstones, then realizes that she's not being chased. Making a face, she heads back towards the adults, Kyle not of interest to her anymore. She wiggles under a chair and just curls up there, watching.
Rodney rubs his chin slowly. "I will probably be back before long, this is an interesting place... In many ways."
"Indeed." Veronica says, with a nod, "I shall likely be here when you return, and look forward to it. You have yet to show me the Library, and I do so want to become better aquainted with it."
Rodney says, "Ah, yes, the library... It is truly impressive."
Andelain pipes up. "Wibawy is biiiig."
Jarril turns and heads back out again, deciding to go look for said
hare than wait for him to arrive where he is.
