With a small noise, the door to the infirmary opens, letting in Jarril who looks about before giving a nod to one of the only hares in the room, who nods back then goes back to her book.  Closing the door quietly behind him, the major makes his way over to where Lain is lying and sits down on the stool, his turn to take a watch over her.

Lying silent and still on the cot, a healer quietly leaning over her to touch her brow with a cool damp cloth, Lain barely moves...  Like lightning, the healer quickly jerks her paw away, staring at Lain rather incredulously.  "Did she just...?" she murmurs to another healer who quickly rushes to the severely tortured haremaid.  "She hasn't move for a /week/...  Maybe she's coming around...?" the other healer murmurs, peering curiously at Lain and glancing at Jarril.  "Let's hope she does wake for all the hell that the Colonel is going through," she says quietly, directed at no one in particular.

Jarril watches Lain for a moment and looks at one of the healers.  "Aye, but I think this one here has gone through a lot as well, but ya right after all."  Looking to Lain, the major doesn't say anything else, but prepares to move out of the way if need be.

"There!  She twitched her eyebr--" the healer stops mid-word even as the other waves a paw to silence her in suspense.  And then drops her paw with a defeated sigh.  "Thought she was going to wake just then," she murmurs, leaning over with another damp cloth to soothe the feverish heat that Lain's head emits.  "Look at what they did to her paws..." the healer shakes her head, looking at the haremaid's paws with dismay.  "Nay, that was a long time ago," the other replies, "Saw her wrapping them up one time with those canvas things. Ne'er saw me though..."  "Look!" the healer half-gasps, pointing.  "So she /is/ coming around," the healer says with a certain grim satisfaction.  Brows furrowed as if a terrible dream has washed over her, Lain slowly relaxes...

Jarril nods slowly and pulls up one of the other hares in the room.  "Go and inform the colonel that Lain is coming ta please."  Turning his head back he smiles slightly but it's more of some concern as he turns to one of the healers.  "When will we know that she be completely okay?"  The major a bit concerned for one of his ex officers as he looks at her again.

Shaking her head quietly, as she silently takes Lain's paw in paw, the healer gnaws her lip anxiously.  "Well...when she starts walking, I suppose..." she says distractedly, eyes glued to Lain's face.  Relaxing a little, the haremaid lazily flickers her eyelids, shutting them immediately as a sudden brightness enters the single amethyst orb.  Feeling a shadow move over her, she slowly opens her eyes again, left one first...then the right.

Jarril looks about and then speaks softly.  "Lain.  Do ya know where ya are?"  He leans a bit forwards and looks at the healer again before turning his attention to the awaking hare.  Lifting a paw up to make sure that his eye patch is secure he continues to watch.

Eyes wandering slowly around the all too familiar infirmary (although she has never been in one of the cots before), Lain hears the familiar voice of her previous Major, her mouth opening to answer.  But nothing comes out.  Frowning in slight frustration, she opens her mouth again, and yet again...nothing.  "What the /hell/?!" her thoughts run, a slight panic rushing through her.

Entering quietly with a small tray full of food for the healers on duty and herself, Triss hands out the food, keeping a small cup of a steaming liquid for herself and Jarril. Taking a small sip of hers, she joins Jarril at Lain's bedside. She offers him the cup, "Cider..." she mumbles quietly, finally taking a good look at Lain...and nearly dropping her steaming mug when she sees the haremaid's eyes open...

Jarril slowly takes one of Lain's hands gently and speaks softly.  "Shhh.  No need ta speak right now, when ya are ready."  Looking at the healers again he smiles.  "Well, she's awake alright."  He goes quiet again and he pats the hand and then turns to face Triss and just smiles at her.  "I think someone is just waking up, doncha know."  Looking at Triss now from his stool at the side of Lain's cot.

Peering at an apparently frustrated Lain, a healer watches the haremaid's panic attack and then slowly simmer as Jarril tells her that she should only talk until she is ready.  Although a glint of a sort of anger in the haremaid's eye, seems to stay, that itself disappearing as she sees Triss.  "Triss!" she yells.  Mentally.  "...how come I can't talk?" she wonders silently, her mouth opening, but nothing more than a mute squeak coming out.  The healer looks concerned but knowing...

Jarril gives the healer a frown back but says nothing right now and gets up to let Triss get near to Lain instead.  He stands there silently.

Giving a half frown at Lain, Triss sets aside her mug on the beside table. Triss gives Jarril a thankful look and slips past him to Lain's paw, taking it up in her own, warmed by the steaming mug. Slowly sinking down into the stool, she just looks at Lain for a moment...then her eyes wander to the healer's look...and her frown deepens...

Giving a weak smile at the touch of Triss, glad that she at least can feel the paw of her favourite Major (no offense to Jarril).  Wanting so bad to say hello to Triss, she gives a troubled frown when an all too obvious growl of a mute escapes her lips.  Squeezing Triss' paw, her eyes moving to their paws, she quickly jerks hers away, shoving them acid-burnt under the white covers of the cot.  The healer bites her lip, her frown deepening in very much the same way as the Major but upon Lain.  She can't talk.

Jarril looks at Lain and then at Triss.  "I better get going, see if I can find the colonel."  Without saying another word, the major slips away and heads out of the room.
