Rubbing her paws clean of whatever might be on them under running water, Lain quickly grabs a barkcloth towel, drying her paws and dashing off to the staircase, nearly falling over in anxiousness as she skids right by the meeting room.  Making a grimace as she notices a spot of blood on her tunic, she sighs, giving a soft tap on the Meeting Room door and peering in.

Jarril nodding his head at Lain, looking serious.  "Please come in and stand at attention, thank ya."  The major's voice is firm as he looks down at the scroll of paper before him.  Moving a finger along the edge he continues while still looking at the parchment.  "It would seem that ya haven't been efficient enough in the patrol, very serious business this, wot."  Turning his head to the colonel.  "Wouldn't ya agree, colonel?"

Keeping a straight face as well as any actor, Zoe nods her head solemnly, looking first to Jarril and then across the table to Lain, where she stands at attention. "She is in your patrol, majah Jarril. If you say 'tis true, then 'tis true.." One corner of her mouth twitches, but she reaches up to scratch her cheek absently, to cover it up.

Jarril nods his head.  "How true."  He looks back to where Lain is and leans back in his chair.  "Care ta explain how this could've happened?"

Gulping and trying not look like a nervous wreck, Lain lets her eyes dart pleadingly to Zoe, the whole plot completely pulling her off what she had thought this would be.  Not to mention, to be interrogated by her own family about Long Patrol matters!  "Err...explain what, sir?" she asks timidly, trying to keep her eyes fixed on the major instead of the colonel.

Jarril takes a deep breath.  "Well, for starters, ya work just isn't up ta standard.  So we've come up with a perfect solution ta end this problem."  He looks at the colonel for a moment.  "Ya could call it punishment if ya want."  He gets up and looks at Lain for a moment and coughs.  "Ta be frank, ya out of my patrol from now on."

Face blanching white with absolute fright, Lain looks to Zoe pleadingly, biting her lip and trying to remain calm despite a rapidly beating heart.  "You can't..." she whimpers, barely audible as she looks to her aunt for an explanation that she might understand.  "But I tried everything I could...!" she protests, her whole body seeming to quiver and slump in devastation.

Short of crying, that's about the worst that Lain could do. However, Zoe holds fast to the plan and remains solemn-faced with a slow shake of her head, allowing Jarril to continue doing the talking.

Jarril continues.  "So it has been decided that ya cannot continue with my patrols at the current state so we are sending ya ta go work with Colonel Zoe in the infirmary to prefect ya skills and then ya can be fully prepared ta be tha best bally healer I will have."  The major smiles now.

Looking sharply up in surprise, Lain looking between the two hares, her eyes filling with a growing delight as she gives a hasty salute to Jarril and bulldozing Zoe with a hug around the waist, rubbing her face into the colonel's good shoulder.
