                  OLD STONE TEMPLE:GRAVEYARD
*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*
This graveyard has some worn gravestones and one strange looking
stone stature of a winged bat looking creture of some sort. Weeds
and broken stone litter the grounds here in varies places. A
large black iron gate, main entry rusted open, leds into the area
of the gravestones..some have names and writtings and some have
long since faded away and a couple are turned over. The air seems
a little chilly here also. A couple tall oak trees are in the
center of the graveyard.

Dotty look sup as she sees Jarril approach, and quickly puts back the parchment and charcoal she had in her paws back into her russack. She stands, and smiles, "Allo there, Jarril. How ya doin'?

Jarril pads into the area and looks about.  "I am doing fine, wot."  He pauses and looks about again and comes to a stop.  "Ya on the other paw I don't know.  Why are ya in some graveyard?"

Dotty looks up, and then bites on her lower lip, "Well...I'm not really sure, y'know. I kinda like bein' round history an' mystery, wot." she shrugs, and then sits back down on the ground, in front of a tombstone marked with the simple prose, 'Life is only one Milestone of many, the resting place of Matilda Furbacker, a loving hedgehog wife and sister,' she look sup at her friend, "I also guess that livin' right near one as a lil' hare helped, too.

Jarril looks about and surpresses a shiver.  "Mabbe, but ta be honest I rather like ta see life as it is now.  Alive."  Shuffling his paws for a moment, he swallows.  "That and also trying ta keep my mind from whatever happens in the forthcoming battle, ya know."  He stays still and looks up to the sky.

Dotty furrows her brows, and gives a little frown, "Aye...I know wot you're talkin 'bout, matey. Las' night I had a most peculiar dream, dontcha know. We were at ol' Redwall Wall, an' this vermin comes up an' attacks me. Get's me right in the side, 'ee does. An' I'm layin' there, watchin' my life slip away. An' I see Laetitia, an' you, an' Kenai, an' Amby, and' my family...an' for some reason I saw Zadcharias. Don' know why I saw him, wot. But anyway, I woke up all hot an' scared. Twas very strange, wot." she shivers now, and stands. "Mebbe we should go somewhere else...this place is makin' me shiver, too.

Jarril doesn't say anything but nods silently.  Turning around he makes his way to leave the graveyard.

Dimly lit tavern as you walk into it. There and a big bar that
holds quiet a few liqour bottles as well as regular drinks for
those that don't drink and for the dibbuns. A few stools wind
around the bar. Theroom is made of a dark colored stone both
walls and floors, but they are shiny in color. A few torches hang
from the walls all around the tavern. Quiet a few tables are
scattered about the room with a few chairs surrounding each one.
Plates and cups are place on each table for snacks and beverages.
Bartenders and waitresses are always around seeing what beasts
want. There is usually a good amount of beast chattering about as
they relax after a long days work.

Jarril pads into the area and makes his way straight to the bar and stands there.  "I take erm....  That one.  Yes that barrel, wot.  Give me a mug of that."  He waits and doesn't look back, not sure on what to think about what Dotty had said a few moments ago but it sure does make the hare feel uneasy.

Dotty walks in a little after Jarril, and sits down at an empty table, and pulls her dirk form out of her russack and begins to polish it. Talking about her dream has made her uneasy, and she begins to feel like she did th enight before.

Jarril gets his mug and pads over to the table and sits down.  He doesn't say anything at all apart from taking a swig of the dark frothy liquid now and again and wipes his muzzle a few times.  After a while he does speak.  "Dotty, old gal.  Ya want ta die?"

Dotty looks up, a puzzled look on her face. "No...what would give ya that idea?" her paws aren't moving, the dirk abandoned in one paw.

Jarril frowns.  "All this talk about lying down dead during the coming battle, that's wot!"  He looks away.  "Maybe ya like ta dream of dying in this battle but I for one don't have dreams like that."  He closes his paws into fists and shakes slightly before turning back.  "And I won't allow that ta happen either."

Dotty shakes her head, starting to polish her dirk again, "Jus' because I *dream* about dyin' doesn't mean I want to." she shakes her head, "An' I'm not goin' to, eithe.

Jarril shrugs and takes another swig of his drink.  "Then just pretend I am in charge right now.  No more sitting alone in graveyards, wot.  No wonder ya having those type of dreams."

Dotty laughs, setting her dirk on the table, "I doubt that's what doin it...but...ok.

Jarril shakes his head.  "That's an order, wot."  He drinks the rest of his drink and gasps, before placing the empty mug on the table.  "Oh and how much more polishing does that dirk need anyways?"

Dotty grins, and puts it back into her russack, "Oh, I do it when I need to busy myself. I'm not really tryin' to make sure it's tip-top, wot.

Jarril leans back and chuckles.  "Ah, I see.  Perhaps I can get one of the higher ranks ta let ya take over on patrol scouting then."  He looks about.  "Or I can always put ya on dibbun duty."  Turning his head back and smirking.

Dotty opens her mouth to protest, and shakes her head, "Dibbun Duty? Are ya crazy? They'd eat me alive! Dibbuns an' Dotty don' get along.

Jarril smiles.  "Awwww.  All the dibbuns here.  If ya can fight hordes of vermin, then ya can cope with dibbun bed time, wot."  He grins a bit more.  "I put ya name down on the volunteer list, shall I?"

Dotty shakes her head, "No, no. If ya do, Jarril...I'll ... I'll...

Dotty nodding with a grin, she states, "I'll tell Zacharias you've been sneakin' is burboun..." she grins, "Ee'll go bloody ballistic on you!

Jarril smirks back.  "He have ta catch me first."  He gets up again and looks about.  "Think I go about and see what is happening around this camp, wot.  Ya ta evil for me, doncha know."

Dawnfire has realized that she walked into Mossflower at the wrong place...and wrong time. "Who's in charge here?" She asks loudly.

Slowly padding about the camp on one of his strolls, Jarril arrives in the area and looks about.  "I say.  Isn't there a lot of beasts ta be hanging about a entrance ta a hidden camp, wot?"

Anigma slips out of camp, upon hearing word of commotion.  And when he sees the headless badger, he quickly averts his gaze, gasping a short-breathed gasp.

Dotty pads in behind him, looking about, "Aye...you're right, Jarril.

**Jarril looks at the body on the ground**

It's headless, and beaten up badly.  The left leg's foot is dislocated, and the left arm is broken at the shoulder.  It's bruised all over the place...must have been in a vicious fight before death.  There's a note attached to his ear, nailed through.  It reads,  "Courtesy of Zeromus Nightblade of Redwall.  Deliver us the blade of marten, and your tapestry, or find more of your own like this."

Sunrise looks over at Dawnfire.  "Who can tell these days, every government and seems to claim it.  These days its fend for yourself the ones you love and the ones who are good." He explains.  "Not saying I like it..." He notices everyones reaction.  He to is saddened.  "Well the longer it takes to get em back the weaker we will see, any ideas" He says hopefully.  He does seem heartless, but things need to be done.

Darktail looks at the dead body, then reads the note. "Wow, someone's desperate. What do we do?" She asks particularly anyone.

Jarril pads up to the body and kneels down.  "Hmmm.  Not exactly something one would like ta see, wot."  He looks at the note and reads it and gets back up again, wiping his paw on his nose to get rid of the small.  "Anyone sent for someone in charge of this camp ta see what they think?"

Dawnfire thinks for a moment. "What we do is keep our cool. I suggest that we get everybeast together and have a meeting. There is no particular beast in charge?" She asks again.

Dotty walks forward, sees the badger and gasps, "Oh, dear..." she averts her eyes, and steps to Jarril, steadying herself on his arm.

Dekar flies through the shadows toward the entrance hearing some commotion.  Seeing the body everyone is so worked up about he chuckles.  "Figures they would do somethinglike that again pretty soon" He says.  He moves over and reads the note.  "Larissa eh, one of the few sensable beasts around here" he says his voice gruff as always.  He takes a few stepps back, his cloaks covering him in darkness.  "Well, if you like I could work some kind of... reaction so to speak out"

Jarril frowns and stays quiet as he thinks for a moment.  "I agree.  We must keep bally well cool, wot.  If we rush in, then that could be worse than doing nothing at all.  What we need ta do is ta confirm what they had written down on that note."  He looks about the place slowly.

Dawnfire bends down by the corpse. "First off, shall we pay our respects and return the corpse to its rightful place under the earth?"

Dotty swallows, and nods. "Aye...that seems right, "she says to the mouse maid.

Swiftral walks up, no cloak or hood, just white shirt and pants.  Stopping he looks down at the dead body, "Hmmm... that's strange... a dead beast.  I think I saw this guy last week..."

Sunrise agrees with Dekar and Jarril.  "yes you are right we need to keep cool.  But we also need to try to get someone in there SOMEHOW and as you said take a look".  He hears the beasts talking about barial.  "Yes, but the river would be much quicker"

Jarril ears perk up and he nods.  "That's a jolly good idea, wot."  With a look back.  "Erm, perhaps someone could find something ta cover this body up and all.  No point in upsetting the little dibbuns on seeing this."

Dawnfire looks at Dotty and nods. "Good. Lend a paw anyone?" She grabs part of the body and starts pulling.

Dotty nods, and raises a paw, "Aye..I'll go back to the Grounds an' look for summat.

Dekar notices Swiftral coming up the road... " Well funny seeing you here" He says from the shadows.  He moves to lean against a tree letting the shadows overtake him.

Swiftral shrugs, "Well if you really want to touch that lump of dead meat."  He steps back and watches.  "Does anyone have a clue as to how this body got here?"

Dotty runs in, her face white. "Someone..please! Come quickly! I've found a note! Someone from Malice's crew has kidnapp our leader!

Dotty room-pages, "*kidnapped our".

Dawnfire looks up and spots the two foxes. She watches them for a moment, Swiftral especially. "Since no one appears to be in charge, I will do all I can to help out." The mousemaid keeps her suspicions to herself. Suddenly, she looks up as Dotty runs in. "WHere?"

Darktail turns her head quickly to Dotty.

Jarril gets up and looks at dotty.  "Which leader.  Ours or theirs?"

Dotty takes a breath, "In the training grounds....come quickly.

Dotty nods shakily, "Theres. Larissa.

Jarril heads off to read the note as he runs off quickly, muttering a few chosen words.

                      TRAINING GROUNDS
*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*%*
You walk into a huge area surrounded by building and paths all
around it. A small shack stands near the path towards the forge
which is locked upand contains mostly weapons and such things.
Near the bonfire area, a few targets are set up along side each
other. Stands for the arrows are a few feet back where the arrows
will be shot from. There are no arrows in those stands. Most of
the are either locked up or carried by the beasts of the camp.
The area is covered in sand all around. Yet again making it soft
on the footpaws. There are lit torches all around the area. Trees
are scattered about as well but on the other side of the grounds
and in between the buildings. One of the trees on the opposite
side is a treefort to be used by the dibbuns. Paths wind in
different directions away from the training grounds.

**Jarril reads the note...**

To the inhabitants of Camp Nueva and all other beasts who care: A female mouse, named Larissa, has been taken from you by the forces of the Lord of Redwall, Malice.  Don't worry, she'll be fed plenty of her own kind (mice) and she will be treated well.  But not for long.... so we suggest you find a new manager.

Dotty points to the note sticking onto the pole, "There.

Dekar moves to the shadows again and looks toward dotty.  "Your a quick one aren't you miss" He says chuckling.  "That happened a time ago... at least in my standards" He says chuckling again.  Well now is his time to make himself useful.  "Well, whenever you folks decide what to do about this, find me I'm happy to help" He states laughing to himself on using the H word.

Jarril pads up and reads it.  "Hmm.  Same information as it was with the body outside."  He strokes his chin and frowns.  "I say that we may have a spy living with us, wot.  But the question is on how ta find out who it is."

Kamala points at the foxes. "Them vermin be it."

Dotty nods, looking around at the other beats around her, "Aye...I agree wholly with ya, Jar.

Swiftral walks up, making his way to the training grounds.  He stops and looks around, seeing how the group has now moved.  Wow they move a lot.

Darktail places her paw on her forhead, "Man this guy is serious." She then hears Jarril's comment, "Thats prol'ly what it is." She looks at the foxes, "But we cant be quick to assume that its any of the foxes."

Dekar looks over at swift from the shadows.  "Hey get a loud of this, they think were spies" He says chuckling.  "Actually I have no idea if you are" His voice is low and gruff, sounding actually evil, which isn't good for him.

Kamala pipes up again. "Someone please remove these foxes from the premises, now.'

Dotty glares at both foxes, and mutters to Jarril, "Hard to trust foxes..sly things.

Kamala clears her throat. "If you really care about the well being of this camp and its inhabitants, you'll understand why I am asking you two foxes to leave. My apologies. "

Swiftral raises an eyebrow, "Whaa?  Spies?  The only reason I come here is because my home on the river is flooded..."  He looks at the beasts who suspect the foxes.  "Well seems quite wrong to me to be suspecting beasts because of their species, right?  I mean, wouldn't it be smarter of the enemy to put some mice, or hare, or squirrel spies in here?"

Dekar looks to Dotty.  "Ive been here quite some time.  And last I knew that Larrissa of yours had no problem with me or my people" He says gruffly.  "So perhaps you shouldn't be foolish and jump to conclusions or you may end up deviding yourselves again... which so far has made things easier for Malice"  He lets his clothing drape over him more.  "Well Swiftral you finally said something smart"

Darktail nods at Swiftral's comment. "Exactly."

Kamala chuckles coldly. Odd for a princess to do. " Don't pull that argument on me. Malice isn't the only one with spies." Her eyes narrow slightly. "Now get out of here."

Dotty rolls her eyes, and takes a step towards the edge of the training grounds, muttering to herself.

Dekar chuckles at Kamala.  "Then if you have any good spies, you'll know I'm on your side" he states coldly.

Darktail raises her paw to her chin, "How do we find out who the spy is? And if we do, what does that give us?"

Dekar raises an eyebrow, pointlessly in the shadows.  "We could do what Malice wants and start imprisoning each other, that sure is safe" he says sarcasticaly though it is hard to tell with his voice.

Swiftral shrugs, "I'm just saying, you have no right to convict anyone just because of their appearance.  I thought we here at Nueva was the good side in this lil' conflict.  But being so racist... doesn't seem like the good thing to me."

Kamala looks to Swiftral. "I have reasons for my suspicions. You're behavior is far more telling than you might think."

Nivik hops in, looking rather pleased with himself. He stops away from the knot of beasts that appears to have formed here, and changes his expression to something more serious, then approaches in a moderate stride.

Dekar finally decides to leave the shadows a moment and moves up to Kamala.  "He is exactly right.  I to thought that you beasts were the nieve be so kind none racist type" He glares with his piercing green eyes.  "But here you are freaking out and acusing inocent beass when your world is shattered... he is seeking shelter, and I am here to help and look at the welcome we get" he spits out, his voice dark and forceful.

Anigma remains, overall, quiet, leaning against the infirmary with his arms crossed.

Kamala sighs. "I'm afraid I'll have to ban you from these premises until further notice. Only time can tell, if you both are spies. I'm sure you'll be able to understand, if you truely mean well for the rest of us."

Dekar laughs at that.  "OH and you think you have the authority to ban me from anywhere!" he says with a dark laugh.  "You have another thing coming"  Dekar takes a few cautionary steps back.

Nivik slips over next to the marten, and mrfs, leaning against the side of the infirmary as well, "Wha's goin' on?"

Darktail, starting to get irritated, says, "Well then, You'll hafta ban all vermin then wont you."

Kamala shakes her head. "No, just these two for now."

Dotty crosses her arms over her chest and turns to Dekar, "Sounds like someone is gettin' a bit defensive, hmm?

Swiftral nods, "Exactly!  You ban two foxes now, but is that where you will stop?  An' why?  Wouldn't the spy be smarter than to be around here right now anyway?"

Dekar turns to walk toward the shadows.  "you know I would leave... only I have dedicated my life to helping good beasts... like yourselves" he states.

Kamala looks at the two foxes. "I ban you two and that is where I'll stop. I have done so because of your reaction to everything I have said, which was a test in the first place." She turns to Dekar. "Good, because the best thing for helping good beasts right now is to limit suspicion by making yourself scarce."

Swiftral turns and starts to leave, a bit frustrated.  "Where will I live... where'll I sleep..." he mutters as he slowly walks away.

Dotty rolls her eyes, and turns back to Jarril. She mutters under her breath, "Sure...'ee elps em die.

Kamala rests her gaze on Swiftral. "Don't pull the where will I live excuses on me. Fighters like yourselves know how to survive in the wilderness."

Swiftral stops and turns, "An' exactly what about me makes you think I'm a fighter???" he looks down, only clothed in a white shirt and khaki pants, not holding any weapons at the moment.

Marlek steps out of the shadows, dead behind swiftral, "He's a second-rate, two-bit assassin, actually...that couldn't cut it in Ferravale...-OR- in the Guild.  Swiftral...what brings you so far from your barstool perch at the Black Gull?  Did the women finally join forces to drive you out?" He asks, folding his arms as a toothy smirk twists over his mouth.

Marlek adds, "A thousand pardons...I forgot...you couldn't cut it in Collinsel, either."

Kamala looks around. "From now on, these two beasts will not be allowed entry into camp, nor within half a mile of it." She sighs. "I hate to make decisions like these, but I think its for the best interest right now. Someone alert the guards of this new status."

Kamala looks to the cat. "Cat, May I have a word with you?" She beckons Marlek over with a finger.

Nivik mrfs, and sighs, "I should start carrying my bow again. Mrf."

Swiftral looks at Marlek and grins.  Oh yeah, that guy.  "Marlek..." he says crossing his arms.  "Never been to Ferravale... an' what Guild?  All I am lately is, as you say, a tod who sits on a barstool at the Black Gull.  An' no, the women came out with me."  He grins.

Marlek ahhh's, and looks around, "Funny...I don't see them..." He then looks to Kamala, and walks towards her beckoning, "Something you desired, m'lady?"

Kamala curtsies regally. "I'd say this fine gentleman of a cat might be kind enough to 'escort' this fox over here. " She points to Swiftral. "Out of the camp premises? The farther away the better."

Kamala turns to Nivik. "Perhaps you could give him a hand too?" She asks.

Nivik mrfs, and starts for the entrance, "I'll retrieve me bow on the way out with 'em."

Marlek half-smirks, "Oh my...Swiftral, it would seem that I've been asked to escort you out of this camp.  The question is...where should I put you?  Remember that little...incident...we had, that time I was in the stocks?"

Darktail watches Swiftral and Kamala argue. Still confused as to why just Dekar and Swiftral are the only ones that are being banned.

Kamala glances at the rest of the beasts. "I know this may confusing right now. But please bear with me, I shall explain after they leave."

Swiftral coughs, "I'll escort myself out thank you very much."  He starts to walk away, making his way out of the camp.

Marlek follows Swiftral close behind, making sure he gets far away from the camp, "Oh...and by all means, do bring back your friends at the Abbey.  Tell them that Collinsel's third battallion will be arriving in plenty of time."

Kamala nods gracefully to Marlek. "Thank you, sir." She raises her voice. "Anybeast seeing him near camp, give him a warning and if this fox doesn't listen, feel free to wound him."

Swiftral, while they are away from the rest of the group, looks at Marlek and grins.  "Oh Collinsel?  How I love them so very much."  He walks away, probably going to go retrieve his cloak and hood.  Well, his disguise is up for now, but is this the end of Swiftral?  Or shall the great Swifty, leader of the MTG, return and fight the good forces?? Or... should he turn on Malice... and the current occupants of Redwall... or should he just grab a pack of vixens and run off into the woods?  Decisions... descisions that shall be made soon.

Nivik slips out the entrance, "Seems to me it'd be safer if I had me bow on paw..."

Darktail folds her arms and leans against the pole that has the note stuck to it. She reads the note again.

Kamala looks around. "Any fighter beasts?"

Marlek whistles innocently, and as Swiftral makes his way out, he shrugs the longbow from his shoulder...and notches an arrow.  The single arrow arches high, and whacks a branch right at trunk-point...the branch splits and drops, right behind Swiftral, as to mark his path as CLOSED.  He looks back to Kamala, "If he comes back here...I'll string 'im up from a tree by 'is undergarments, smear 'im with honey, an' let the bees take care o' the rest."

Marlek ehms, "You need...fighter beasts?" He rearranges his long, blue whool waistcoat, "Well...I -AM-...The Highwayman."

Kamala bows slightly. "I'm Kamala." She leaves the rest of her title out. "Current situation, one of our beasts got murdered. They are burying his body right now. Our leader got kidnapped by the enemy. Do you wish to offer your services to the camp?" She inquires, soft blue eyes reaching into his.

Marlek blinks like a frog in a hailstorm, "Who got kidnapped?  Compest?!?  Who'se dead?  Yes...where did they take the prisoner..." He checks his inventory.  Bullwhip...check.  Longbow...check.  Rope...check.  Sabre...check.  Corncob pipe...check.  Tri-fold-hat with hidden compartment...check.  Snow-fox flute...check.  Everything he needs to spring a prisoner, and nothing more, "...I'll go get him."

Anigma narrows his eyes.  "I don't see why you're suspecting Swiftral of anything.  I believe his story.  And didn't the note say that a fellow named Zeromus killed the badger?"

Nivik returns, wearing his belt quiver, with the longbow across his back. Now he looks slightly more formidable...anyways, for a squirrel.

Darktail nods, "That I believe it did." She shakes her head, "I dont think it was right to accuse Swiftral either....or Dekar."

Kamala looks at Marlek. "They captured Larissa. Killed a badger." She turns to Anigma. "You can follow the fox if you wish and you might be surprised when he turns back to report to Malice."
