Sitting on a fluffy couch near the fire is the pretty, multi-coloured form of Kenai. Staring into the warm flames of the fire, Kenai holds a brightly glowing orange crystal in her paw. Smirking she rolls it over in her paw several times, everytime it moves, the color seems to change...giving away her emotions. Blue and green whisps of smokey material drift about inside as the outter surface changes from orange to a flaming red...To anyone who happened to know the ancient colour-emotion meanings...she's /very/ nervous and overly excited...
Jarril enters the room, looking a bit flustered, the nose flared open a bit more than usual as he looks about the room to see who is in there, eyes blinking as they reflect the light coming from various places in the room. Another hare comes in just behind and pats Jarril on the back. "Good workout, wot. Who gave ya the new dirk?" Looking to the other hare that he had been sparring with, he replies softly. "Dotty gave me it?" He stares and speaks a bit louder. "What? She only gave me a present. It's not as if we're going out or anything." The other hare chuckles as he heads away. "Sure...." Jarril sighs and pads over to a chair and plops down heavily.
Peering over the edge of her chair back, the multi-coloured hare blinks her ice-blue eyes. Swiftly stowing her emotion-betraying crystal she scowls...Sarrasri is so bad...she thinks, her ear twitching in annoyance. Turning to see the newcomer fully by leaping spryly from her seat and steadying herself with a paw on the mantle place. "'Ello." she greets warmly, watching him through twin orbs that look like pieces of the moon, "Wot brings you 'ere?" she inquires, seating herself delicately on a chair near him an fingering, a more well behaved crystal that isn't glowing, around her neck.
Fiddling with one of his black tipped ears, Jarril turns to face one of the other hares and blinks. "Oh hello. Not seen you about here before? Just joined perhaps? I've been here for a month or so now, doncha know." He smiles as he leans back in the chair and lets his left arm plop down onto the arm and continues to speak. "Oh I thought I make sure I was ready for when I have ta report for duty and get some training in, wot. So how ya liking this place then?" He pauses. "Well, I assume that ya new, erm." He stops again and shakes his head for his own rudeness. "Pardon me. Name's Jarril Fleetpaw."
Kenai smiles warmly, her blue's flashing with interest. "Aye, I'm new," she speaks in a calm raspy voice, "I o'ly been 'ere for about a week an' I'm already off on a mission this noontide." Once again the other crystal, Spritz's, betrays her emotions to him (that is if her knows the colors) the lovely faceted gem flaring a rosey red. Covering it swiftly with a paw she tucks it in her shirt, calming the crystal's glow with her paw touch. Looks back up to him she offers her paw, hoping her didn't see the gem, "I'm Kenai Skysong." she blinks again...
Jarril nods slowly and looks to where the crystal was for a moment but doesn't say anything. "Oh? So ya on the same mission that I have been ordered ta go on." He smiles a bit more, before chuckling. "Ta be honest, I was waiting for something ta do then go about around the beach and back ta the mountain with nothing ta report. Runner that I am, doncha know. Most of my family have been good runners for the long patrol. So how ya liking the place so far? Fitting in?"
Kenai nods, listening to him intently. "Aye, I'm a runner as well..." she thinks for a moment on his secon question, the crystal flaring lime-green, reminding her of Spritz, "Aye I been fittin' in," she says with a sweet smile, "Quite well actually." shaking her and silently cursing the crystal for embarassing her so, she continues. "I've ne'er been on a patrol before," she tells, "Though I think I'll suit me job jus' fine...I'm very fast..."
Jarril chuckles. "Fast isn't everything. Be prepared ta
march a long ways. I've heard of such from other hares that have
been here longer." He takes another glance at the crystal.
"Nice crystal by the way. Where ya get it from?"
In a room page-pose, Kenai got your pose :)
Kenai blushes a deep scarlet, both crystals flaring the same colour. "O-oh..these?" she says in a shaky voice, "They're...um...I...uh...foun' 'em..." Standing she glances at him, her moon-chip eyes buried deep in embarassment. Upon reaching the chair she was in earlier she curse the crystal aloud, -/Why/ do you always have to draw attention?!- she screams in her mind to her crystal, and Spritz's as well...both of them turning an obsidian black with shame...
Jarril just blinks and watches with his eyes. "I say. I haven't said anything wrong have I, wot?" His ears twitching slightly as he makes to get up and see just what he did wrong to make you leave to head back to your chair suddenly.
Kenai ignores his question, her multihued ears bent...one twitching in annoyance. Looking rather red and embarassed she turns around a faces him, standing to be polite. "It was nothing you did..." she sighs, "I'm jus' not the same, and neither are these crystals..." she shakes her head, pulling the crystals hesitantly from her tunic and into her palms. Each of the crystals hover inches above her paws, purple and orange orbs of light surrounding them, the purple with whisps of blue inside and the orange with whisps of green. "I'm diff'rent, an' you wouldn't unnerstand..." she mutters, caressing the left crystal (Spritz's) and changing it's color to red with the same green whisps...her blue eyes relfecting the shimmering lights.
Looking a bit uncertain and upset by those words but still not taking his eyes off the crystals, he shakes his head to come back from his thoughts. "That's okay. Nothing ta be embarassed about. It's ya own private thing and I won't mention it again." He deicdes to help and change the subject as he settles back in his chair again. "Feeling nervous about going into battle?"
Kenai shakes her head to him and sits with a sigh of relief, replacing the crystal about her neck. "I'm only a lil' bit nervous..." she says in a melodic voice, "Wot 'bout you?" Good. He left the crystal alone...I hope he doesn't run off a tell anyone...
Jarril gives a shrug. "Well, there would be something bally wrong
of me, wot if there wasn't any nervousness inside of my right now."
He smiles. "That's why I came in a bit flustered ya see. Was
trying ta work it out in the training room. Besides I have a new
dirk that I had ta get used ta."
